It was the largest crowd ever in attendance this last weekend at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. The stands were jam packed with snocross fans to see the edge of your seat explosive action.
Friday – Our own Ross Martin did not disappoint his fans! He qualified #1 once again earning a front row start in the Pro Open Final. He hammered the throttle taking the holeshot and took the lead early. About half way through the race got tangled up in the corner but he was able to fight back enough to still end up on the podium finishing 3rd.
Saturday –
Ross had a great start but during round 2 had co-hart Brett Bender land hard on the back of Ross’s sled. The back of Ross’s sled was demolished.(We are happy to report Brett is banged up but will be fine!) We worked feverishly fearing it was just too badly damaged to get Ross back on the track for the Final. It took everyone breaking down the sled and doing the best rebuild we could before the Final flag dropped. We are thrilled he was able to finish 4th.
We went into the weekend up 13 points in the Year-End Pro Open Points race and finished the weekend with a 20 point lead. We’ll take it!
Teammate Mike Bauer also qualified for both finals finishing 8th in Friday’s Final and went on to bring home his best Pro Open Final finish this season on Saturday – 6th. Great Job Mike!
James Johnstad did a great job as well in the extremely crowded Pro Lite Class. He finished 4th on Friday and 8th on Saturday making him 4th in the Pro Lite Class Year-End Points. This young man is one to keep your eye on!
