For the 2017-18 season ISR is providing excess medical insurance for all drivers at a reasonable rate for the coverage afforded. Please be aware you must have this coverage in place before you can participate in any ISR affiliated event.

Each year ISR works very hard to provide both promoters and drivers with the best coverage available and considers the following factors:

  • High quality medical supplement insurance for drivers,
  • Reduced liability costs for promoters,
  • Best protection possible for potential litigation issues,
  • Universal, uniform protection for everyone at all ISR affiliated events,

We are super excited to announce a brand new addition to our racing series this year.  For the very 1st time, we are going to have an on-track medical team for our riders.  Our goal is to provide world-class medical care to you, our athletes.  We have formed a brand new 501c3 non-profit organization called FXR Mobile Medical Team, which will bring the funding necessary to carry this out.  The team will consist of a local Sports and ER doctor, Dr. Jon Odom and his team from Odom Health and Wellness.  Thanks to some generous early sponsors, we have a Triton trailer and a Polaris Ranger for our team already.  We also have a leadership board made up of Jesse Strege, Sara Schultz, Trace Leighton, and Levi Lavallee.  You will all be hearing much more about the brand new team including the announcement of our title sponsor in the coming days.  We will be debuting this whole program in Duluth next week.

Dr. Odom and the new Snocross Mobile Medical Team have directly requested that each rider fill this form out before their first race of the season in an effort to provide the highest quality medical care for the athletes.  The medical team will be on site at every race to provide emergency medical response in the case of a crash or injury, as well as pre and post-race screenings.  We highly recommend the athletes stop by the medical trailer to introduce themselves and discuss any medical questions or concerns during down time at the track.  This is the first year Snocross is providing this complimentary service, and we hope the athletes take advantage of this trackside resource.  We are extremely excited to work with each of the racers, and build a safer environment to compete in.

Coverage for medical expenses (doctor bills, ambulance, hospital and medication) incurred as a result of an injury while participating in an ISR sanctioned/insured snowmobile event is written on an “excess” basis over any other collectible medical insurance the injured person or responsible party might have available to them (primary health insurance). In other words, the injured person’s primary health insurance pays first and then what remains is submitted to ISOC’s race insurance carrier. If the injured person does not have primary health insurance, then the race insurance becomes primary for that individual.

After other insurance benefits have been submitted, you should forward a copy of the other insurance company’s explanation of benefits and the corresponding itemized medical statements. If your insurance company denies benefits, send a copy of the denial. Again, if there is no other insurance, this policy will act as primary insurance.

It is imperative that all injuries are reported to the “on-site” medical staff and that an accident report form is filled out by said medical staff. In addition, the Accident Medical Insurance Claim Form must be filled out by the injured person, parent or legal guardian and mailed to the address listed at the bottom of the form. This form is available from the on-site medical staff or by clicking this link (click here). Failure to follow these stipulated conditions may preclude or delay any claims.

Copies of the accident reports are submitted to the insurance carrier following each event. The insurance carrier will send a follow-up letter to all claimants with an explanation of benefits and additional information.

ISR offers a Super Excess Medical insurance policy to it’s individual competitors and race crew. This policy is valid only for ISR sanctioned events in the U.S. This additional coverage is very beneficial, even if you have private insurance through an employer, spouse, parent, or an individual poliy, as often these policies exclude medical claims as a result of racing activities. If you don’t have any private coverage, it is even more beneficial. For more information, please visit Frazier Insurance. Click here
