7 Questions for Colby Crapo

Kimster Team Press

Last year, Colby Crapo (#999) had a tough time in the Amsoil Championship Snocross National Circuit. He experienced personal issues with the health of his father, sled problems, and injuries during the season.

With all these problems, Colby Crapo didn’t give up, and now he’s making news in the Snocross world him with signing on with Huber Motorsports. Going on their fourth year of racing, Huber Motorsports is once again making moves to secure their spot in the Sncross circuits with the signing of Colby Crapo.

Everything is looking up for Colby this year, and we wanted to ask him some questions about all the changes.

ISOC: How has your summer been?

Colby Crapo: Summer has been super fun! Rode bikes, UTVs, and anything else with a motor.  I’ve been doing lots of fly fishing with my friends and family. I’ve been working on my golf game, and I think I can almost join the PGA with my golfing skills ha ha!

ISOC:  You just signed on with Huber Motorsports, What do you think you’re bringing to the team?

CC: Huber Motorsports is a new Snocross team, so I think the years I have raced professionally will definitely help with knowing what the riders and the team need to do to prepare for the upcoming season.

ISOC:  What changes are you applying to your training to compete against this talented pool of Pro Open riders?

CC: Training is pretty much the same as past years. The Pro class is gnarly, and everyone is so fast. Everything with Huber Motorsports just has to come together.

ISOC:  You suffered some personal struggles last year during the season, how has that affected you as a racer?

CC: Last season was definitely tough as far as my personal life. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to race after my dads health issues, but it fueled me even more. I realized more than ever I’m doing this for myself,  and will do whatever it takes to win.

ISOC:  You’re partnering up with Pro Lite Racer Christian Huber, Do you train together, and what’s the best of piece of advice you offered to Christian?

CC: Christian and I haven’t been together training, but will be closer to the season. Having raced for so many years, I know what it takes coming into Duluth.  That will definitely help both of us working together and I’m very excited to be working with Christian this year. I’m planning on moving in with Christian in by the 1st of October, but I have already sent Christian my workout plan, training guides I use, and some classic crapo wisdom. We both have the same goal, and that’s to win. That’s what makes this so exciting.

ISOC:  What can your loyal fans expect from Team Huber for the upcoming season?

CC: The Hubers are serious about this, and will do everything in their power to give me the tools to win! We have our own training facility with a full gym, track, groomer and dozer. The Hubers are committed to the sport of Snocross as much as I am. That makes this team so awesome to be apart of.

ISOC: What are the odds of you busting a sled this year?

CC: Do you even have to ask? I am sure we will use all our parts allowance haha!!!

ISOC:  What sponsors do you want to thank?

CC: Huber Motorsports, Ski-Doo, Pillers, and Factory Recreation.

ISOC: Thank you for taking time to talk to us. We wish you the best of luck this season.

CC: Thanks! I’m eager to get out there, and be the best I can be on the track.
