Longville, MN (December 3, 2013) – Thanksgiving weekend marked the 22nd Annual AMSOIL Duluth National Snocross CJ Ramstad Memorial Cup held at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota. Cold temps prior to the 3-day National, helped make more than enough man-made snow, allowing for a high-flying track. Great weather conditions throughout the weekend brought in record-breaking crowds, where over 17,000 spectators where present for Saturdays bar-to-bar race action.
The weekend started off with the Amsoil Dominator race on Friday. A bracket-style format type of racing, where each rider was judged off their laps times in seeding to see whom they would match up against in round 1. For Team LaVallee, Pro Rider, Kyle Pallin went the furthest in the Dominator race, ending his Friday night in the semi-final round.
Saturday and Sunday were Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2013/2014 ISOC snocross season. Levi LaVallee started the night off with a bang, where he did his signature flip entrance for opening ceremonies Saturday night and again on Sunday afternoon.
The highlights for the weekend was Pro Lite rider, Andy Lieders charging hard throughout the weekend, allowing him to skip both LCQ’s (last chance qualifiers) and go straight to his finals. In the Pro Lite final on Sunday afternoon, Lieders came off of the line towards the front of the pack were he held off his fellow racers allowing him to finish that 15 lap final in an exciting 4th place.
And in the Pro Class, Kyle Pallin was the shining star for Team LaVallee. Going into his third year as a pro, Pallin had a weekend he’ll never forget. After being so close to the podium all last season, Kyle made it up on the box not once, but twice over the weekend. On Saturday night, Pallin took a 3rd place finish, making that his first ever Pro Open podium. Caring that same momentum into Sunday, Pallin qualified 3rd for the Pro Open Final and finished an awesome 2nd place! While, Team LaVallee’s rookie Pro, Jake Scott finished a notable 6th place, coming from the back row. Congratulations to Kyle and to the rest of the team for a fantastic weekend. Be sure to keep an eye out for the second stop of the series, a hometown track for Kyle Pallin, in Bessemer, Michigan.
“I am so happy to see Kyle, Jake, and Andy ride as strong as they did. They have been working super hard and it’s paying off for them.” – Levi LaVallee (Co-Owner/Racer, Team LaVallee)
