Mt. Pleasant, MI (February 24th -25th, 2014) was host to the 6th stop of the ISOC Championship Snocross Series.
Trent Wittwer added 4 more 1st place podium finishes to his season! It has become a very successful season for Trent this year, improving every weekend!
The track was huge in comparison to the last few races, allowing Wittwer to showcase his talent. Friday’s weather challenged the riders as much as the track itself with wind gusts up to 40mph making staying straight in the air over the big jumps difficult, not to mention the added challenge of blowing rain and snow. Racing Sport #1 and Sport #2 Trent won all but one of his heats. Full of momentum from his heat races he took an early lead and pulled away in both finals putting his Monster Energy/Fox Shoxs Arctic Cat on top of the podium.
Saturday was a new day, the skies were clearer and the wind was not as big of factor. Racing the Jr. 14-15 and Jr. 16-17 classes Trent was looking for a repeat of Friday. He went 1-1 in the Jr. 14-15 heats and 1-1 in the Jr. 16-17 heats. Having 1st pick on the starting line for both finals Wittwer set his sled near the outside of the starting line. Again nailing both holeshots on his Speedwerx clutched Arctic Cat he carried that momentum to the win in both classes, making it a clean sweep for the day!
It was a great weekend of racing, said Wittwer. My C&A Pro Skis and Studboy traction products handled the changing track conditions perfectly. I really liked the longer track with big jumps and gnarly whoop sections along with the higher speeds which really let you show what you can do.
Up next is Regional Racing at ERX in Elk River, MN Feb. 28th – March 1st, 2014 where he has a 70 point lead in the Sport class.
