There’s No Stopping Marica Renheim

Shakopee, Minnesota ( January 13, 2015 ) – The world’s fastest woman on snow, Marica Renheim, rocketed to the top of the podium this weekend during the Pirtek Nationals presented by Jimmy John’s— posting another dominating round on the AMSOIL Championship Snocross circuit. Marica finished first in both heats, and entered the Women’s Pro-Am main as the top qualifier. The Swedish native held second place well into the final, bringing fans to their feet during the last lap as she overtook the highly competitive Megan Brodeur in a dramatic fight to the finish.

Friday had started brutally cold — creating a hard and fast track, in a venue already well known for its challenging layout. The frigid arctic air did nothing to deter Minnesota fans — corridors became virtually impassable as record crowds packed into the facility. “I want to thank Motorfist. Our crew is one of the best outfitted crews on the circuit. Motorfist’s expertise in outdoor gear sure proved itself. With all of the challenges we face in a weekend, I can tell you, being cold is not one of them.”Team Owner, Garry Querel

The men’s competition did prove tough, with Darrin Mees being the sole BOSS athlete going into Friday’s Pro main. “It’s racing. You always take risks to get out front— early on, we made adjustments to the original equipment set-up and now we are paying the price. Our crew worked a frantic pace throughout the night on Friday, and we still have work to do to get things dialed in the way we envision”—Garry Querel. On Saturday, the team saw a slight improvement with all three men’s Pro athletes entering the main, and Adam Renheim posting the best finish with a 6th place overall.

Team Jimmy John’s heads to Aspen, Colorado on Friday to begin acclimation and testing for Winter X Games. Darrin Mees, Colby Crapo and Adam Renheim are all qualified for this internationally acclaimed media event. Follow us on Facebook to stay plugged in.
