Consistency Is Key In Canterbury

January 12, 2015 (St. Cloud, MN) As is tradition, the track at Canterbury was a challenging one. Despite the track challenges, Warnert Racing’s riders John Stenberg and Elias Ishoel finished out the weekend strong.

John Stenberg continued to have impressive heat races on both Friday and Saturday. That allowed him to bypass the LCQs and go straight to the main event each night.  On Friday night, Stenberg was running in the top 7 for the majority of the race. Stenberg charged hard lap after lap until he came off of his sled after hitting a kicker in the corner. He finished out the night in 13th. Saturday was a much smoother night for Stenberg. He put on a show in the early parts of the race by holding off Tucker Hibbert for quite a few laps. Stenberg raced a clean race and finished in 9th.

Elias Ishoel had another fantastic weekend, also qualifying straight to the finals on both nights of action. On Friday, Ishoel rode hard through the entire race and made his way up to 7th spot after getting shuffled back off the start. The audience was on their feet though on Saturday when Elias came off of his sled while making a run for a podium position. Although he came off his sled, the tether cord never came off. He was able to get back on his sled right away and charge back to finish in 5th.

The team is now preparing for John Stenberg to race at the Winter X games coming up January 22-25, with Sno-Cross racing on the 25th.

After the Winter X-Games, the ISOC circuit will be in Deadwood, SD for the Deadwood Shootout on January 30-31.

Currently, John Stenberg is 8th in National Pro Open Points and Elias Ishoel is 2nd in National Pro Lite Points.
