Shakopee, MN (February 29, 2016) – In his first race back after injuring his ribs at the race in Deadwood, South Dakota, January 22-23, Petter Narsa put the Hentges Racing Polaris on the podium taking a 3rd place finish after nearly a month away from racing. The Hentges Racing team traveled to the Ram Trucks Snocross National in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, this past February 26-27, to compete on a track that is quickly becoming one of the favorites on the national schedule. Featuring elevation changes, a mix of right- and left-hand turns and the ever-present bumps and big air, the track was a challenging setting for Narsa and the team to re-enter the snocross season.
After a promising practice and qualifying rounds, Narsa lined up for Friday night’s final and claimed the lead right out of the gate. With little competition time since January, he eventually faded to 7th, but the night’s performance set the stage for Saturday’s racing. After transferring through the LCQ Saturday night, Narsa again got a massive start and pulled a lead on the field, setting the pace in the opening laps. A few laps in, Narsa lost the lead spot, then just past halfway dropped to 3rd where he held on until the checkered flag, claiming the final podium spot in what amounted to a stellar first weekend back on the sled.
“We were happy to have Petter back on the track after sitting out for more than a month,” said Hentges Racing Team Owner Nate Hentges. “Our crew had done its homework, and that showed with how fast our Polaris was off the line this weekend. Good starts are always key, and getting a racer as talented as Petter out front means good results and we got those this weekend. We’ll be looking to carry this momentum into Chicago next weekend.”
Next up for Hentges Racing is the Hollywood Casino Snocross National March 4-5, 2016, at Route 66 Speedway in Joliet, Illinois.
