Southside Sales & Service renews partnership with ECS Conx2share series, Presented by Woody’s Traction and FXR
CLARKSBURG, Mass. (Jan. 3, 2017) – Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) and Southside Sales and Service, a longtime Polaris dealer in North Adams, Mass., have renewed their partnership created last season to boost the purses available to Sport class riders.
While a great deal of attention is rightfully focused on the Pro Open and Pro Lite classes, it’s the Sport class that develops riders as they hone their skills for the future. These young racers also face the high cost of racing and will directly benefit from this second-year program. Once again this season, it shall be referred to as the “Southside Sales & Service/ Team Southside” Sport Class,” and company owner Bruce Gaspardi Sr. says it should be well-received.
“We all realize the cost of racing continues to rise each year,” Gaspardi said. “Sport riders face similar expenses as those who compete in the upper classes, so they deserve a little boost. All of us at Southside Sales are pleased to renew this partnership with ECS, and hope it continues to draw attention to a great class.”
Starting with the 2017 season opener at historic Bass Park in Bangor, Maine, the top finishing riders in each Southside Sales & Service/Team Southside Sport Super Stock Sunday Final (separate points from Saturday races) will receive $100 for first place; $75 for second place and $25 for third place. This increase in purse for Sport riders is greatly appreciated by all.
“Bruce has done so much for our sport over a long period of time,” series owner Kurt Gagne said. “We’ve always admired his passion for snocross, and are amazed at the sheer number of riders he manages to field some winters. We want to extend a big thanks to Bruce and his family for this great program, and urge all Polaris riders in western Massachusetts to consider Southside Sales & Service for all of your snowmobile and power equipment needs.”
Southside Sales & Service was launched by Frank Gaspardi (Bruce’s father) back in 1969. The original dealership was located on Church Street and sold the Massey Ferguson Ski Whiz brand. Bruce took over the business in 1984, and shortly after, moved the company to its present location on the Curran Highway. A lot of expansion has taken place over the years, adding great brands like Stihl, Polaris, Ariens, Husqvarna and Gravely.
A look at the riders, teams and potential new faces for 2017 will be released shortly in our annual “Competition Preview.” Each of the three sled makers active in snocross today have made improvements to their machines, which should create more parity among brands on the podium.
The East Coast Snocross Conx2share series, presented by Woody’s Traction and FXR, is an ISR-affiliated sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States. ECS maintains a regional circuit intended to keep grass-roots snocross racing healthy in this part of the country, while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed Pro teams.
