TREMBLAY BREAKS THROUGH FOR WIN, BAUERLY AND PATENAUDE REPEAT AT NEW YORK ISOC WHILE STERNE TAKES TWO IN MINNESOTA OVALS

BRP’s Ski-Doo X-Team racer Tim Tremblay took the top podium step Friday night for his first win this season while Hunter Patenaude and Paul Bauerly each repeated, adding another check mark in the win column at the New York ISOC National Snocross race.

Tremblay, the points leader in the premier Pro Open class, has been close grabbing that first place finish, but finally wrapped it up when teammate Lincoln Lemieux crashed with 2 laps left in the weekend’s first of two races. Tremblay has been riding with determination and a never quit attitude that’s visible every time he takes the track – and while he was closing the gap, Lemieux fresh off his bronze at X-Games, was just as determined to stay out front. Unfortunately the race ended with Lemieux’s sled cartwheeling through the whoops before the two got to lock horns.

Saturday provided Lemieux with some redemption as he raced to a solid third place finish despite a shoulder injury.

In Pro Lite action Aki Pihlaja continued his fast and consistent ways by collecting two third place finishes over the weekend and maintaining a healthy points lead in the season championship tally. Pihlaja has obviously adapted well to the North American style of racing in a short time frame. Kevin Wallenstein saw the podium twice at the last ISOC race and looked like he wanted to get there again, but fell just short with a fourth on Friday.

Hunter Patenaude and Paul Bauerly both had wins in Deadwood, South Dakota and carried that momentum into New York. Patenaude took the win in Sport class on Friday and came back for a third on Saturday while Bauerly grabbed the Pro+30 class top spot.

In Alexandria, Minnesota Gunnar Sterne had a stellar weekend on the ice oval track taking two wins and finishing runner up in the featured Champ 440 class to another Ski-Doo racer, Cardell Potter, in a make up race from a prior event. Ski-Doo drivers dominated the Champ class all weekend taking eight of the nine podium finishes.
