Finley, ND (January 27, 2025) – The Deadwood Shootout has always held a little extra magic for the KC Motorsports team and this year was no exception. Both Oskar Norum and Evan Christian turned around what had been a challenging start to the season with podium performances in the Pro and Pro Lite divisions.

Norum has been searching for a comfortable yet competitive setup on his machine in the early going. In Deadwood he hit on a combination that resulted in better starts and the ability to run with the class leaders on the demanding short course in the Days of ’76 rodeo arena.
On Friday, Oskar had his best ride of the season finishing third in stage two of the Triple Crown. Following the race he was docked for making contact with fellow Polaris racer Kody Kamm while making a pass for second place. A questionable call by race officials which completely ruined any chance of an overall podium in the three round format.
Norum would bounce back on Saturday with his most consistent three stages to date, going 4-6-5 to finish on the box in third place. Oskar maintains the ninth position in the Pro class standings after five points events.

After a rough weekend at rounds two and three in Minnesota, Evan Christian was ready to get back on course at the spot where he has often found success. Friday qualifying started a bit slow with finishes of 8-8, but a win in the last chance qualifier locked him into the main event. Evan raced forward for a seventh place finish, which combined with some back luck for a couple of the class point-leaders, edged him that much closer to overall contention in the series.
On Saturday, Christian stepped it up with a couple of top fives in his heat races and then shot to the head of the field in the main event to finish on the podium in second place.
More struggles for the point leader tightened things up even closer and Evan is now full steam ahead leading into the upcoming rounds.
Evan Christian –
I just didn’t seem to have the fire right away in the heat races and if you didn’t get a good start it was very one lined and hard to pass. Fortunately, we got it turned around in both of the finals and were able to move forward.
Now we just have to get back to being consistent in the heats and running up front in the finals and we can be right back in it.
