Dillon Dominant, Cole, Hemmer Get Sweeps in New York Finale

Feb 22, 2026

Salamanca, New York ~ Calmer skies and milder temperatures greeted AMSOIL Championship Snocross, presented by Brunt Workwear, on Saturday as the Seneca Allegany Snocross National in Salamanca, New York, closed out its weekend of racing. After Friday’s gusting winds and blowing snow challenged visibility, reshaped the track, and created movement in several championship battles, teams returned to a more predictable surface for day two. With the season entering a pivotal stretch, the final day in upstate New York carried heightened urgency as riders chased podium finishes and critical points.

Friday night saw Emil Harr return to form in the Pro class while Cameron Cole fought through a tense closing stretch in Pro Lite, and multiple national divisions left the opening round with tightened championship margins. Saturday traded survival for spectacle. With improved conditions producing faster lines and bigger launches, bar-to-bar racing and aggressive passes ruled the day in Salamanca, delivering a decisive and high-intensity conclusion to the New York national.

Salamanca Sees Second Pro Win for Dillon

The AMSOIL Pro field continued to deepen in Salamanca after a healthy defending champion Emil Harr returned to victory lane Friday night, earning his second win of the season while rookie Crayden Dillon shadowed him throughout to secure the runner-up finish. Dillon made it clear he wanted more from the podium — and in Saturday’s final, the round five winner delivered in commanding fashion.

Daniel Benham grabbed the holeshot to open the race, but Harr slipped through a narrow opening to slot into second with Dillon close behind. Dillon wasted little time making his move, charging into the lead early and immediately creating separation. Once out front, he let the battle rage behind him while he powered away to a decisive nine-second victory.

“I told everyone in the trailer that I never wanted to win more than I did today,” said Dillon. “We ripped the start, and got into the lead after the first lap and put my head down and pushed the whole race. Unbelievable feeling. I am on cloud nine right now.”

Harr found the result he needed to reestablish himself in the title hunt. Searching for speed and lines on the rough track, he settled into the runner-up position to secure his fifth podium finish of the season. Points leader Jordan Lebel faced adversity after being buried off the start in eighth but mounted a strong recovery, climbing to third within four laps and locking down the position for his sixth podium of the year.

Cole Completes Pro Lite Sweep

Friday night’s Pro Lite victory didn’t come easy for Cameron Cole. He fought through early traffic to reach the front and survived a late-race off that nearly cost him the win, but fortune stayed on his side in round nine. On Saturday, however, it was pure execution. Cole launched off the line, avoided the chaos unfolding behind him, and quickly built an insurmountable advantage. From there, he rode away untouched to complete the weekend sweep and extend his championship points lead.

“I was just trying to stay smart and not fall off my sled like yesterday,” said Cole. “We were just trying to charge the whole time, keep a steady pace and just don’t overdo it. I think I learned from that. I just feel really good.”

Round five winner Eric Downs, who missed Friday’s final, rebounded in strong fashion. Downs worked his way into second by lap three and maintained the position to secure his fourth podium finish of the season.

Adam Ashline mounted an impressive charge from a seventh-place start, moving into third on lap nine before fending off late pressure from Brandon Nelson to secure the final podium spot by just half a second at the line.

Hemmer Continues Rookie Domination with Weekend Sweep

Ten rounds into the season, Avery Hemmer has nine victories — an extraordinary mark for a rookie competing against a field stacked with veterans. The young standout continued to take the Pro AM Women class by storm in Salamanca, completing the weekend sweep with another commanding performance. Hemmer nailed the start and quickly separated from the field, managing the challenging track conditions throughout the night to secure her ninth consecutive win.

“The track is rough out there,” said Hemmer. “They are not doing a lot of grooming today and it is definitely affecting some people. But I got a (good) start today and that was nice.”

Victoria Dillon, a frequent early-season podium finisher, returned to the box after missing the podium in the previous two rounds, riding a strong and consistent race to finish second. Inanna Hauger delivered one of the most impressive charges of the night, battling from ninth off the start to third just before the midpoint and crossing the line ahead of Ava McCurdy. However, a post-race penalty for jumping on a yellow flag relegated both Hauger and McCurdy down the order, promoting Ana Wensloff to third and marking her first podium finish of the season.

Wallenstein Surprisingly Sweeps Pro AM Plus 30

Kevin Wallenstein’s return to national competition could not have unfolded more convincingly. After capturing Friday’s victory, Wallenstein completed the weekend sweep on Saturday with a dominant, start-to-finish performance. He grabbed the holeshot and steadily pulled away from a stacked Pro AM Plus 30 field, showcasing both speed and control in a triumphant comeback weekend.

“I was pretty confident coming in here this weekend, but all of these guys are so fast,” said Wallenstein. “I had a really good start and had a great drive into the first corner. Once I got (the lead), I just tried to keep it upright.”

The championship picture shifted behind him as points leader Corin Todd endured a difficult race and finished ninth, opening the door for Tyler Oomen to gain ground in the standings. Oomen responded with a strong runner-up finish, maintaining his remarkable consistency with eight podiums in eight rounds. Round two winner Brian Peterson fought through early traffic and returned to the podium in third, continuing his steady presence among the class front-runners.

Stanisich Sweeps to Seize Points Lead in Sport

Despite early pressure off the start, Jimmy Stanisich proved untouchable in Saturday’s Pirtek Sport final. He grabbed the holeshot, held firm through the opening laps, and then steadily pulled away from the field to secure his second straight win of the weekend. The sweep vaulted Stanisich into the championship lead, as he left Salamanca with the red plate and momentum heading into the second half of the season.

Entering the day four points behind co-leaders Kamden Duffy and Justin Blazevic, Stanisich capitalized when both contenders finished outside the top five — sixth and ninth, respectively — to take control of the standings.

Behind him, Jacob Begin delivered his strongest performance of the season, battling in podium contention throughout before making a decisive last-lap move around Adam Barr and Wyatt Skogquist to earn his first podium finish of the year. Skogquist also recorded his best result of the season with a third-place ride.

vanHorsigh Victorious in Sport Lite

Separated by just two points entering the day, Carter VanHorsigh and Friday night winner Derek Gosselin lined up for what promised to be a pivotal late-weekend showdown in the Sport Lite class. VanHorsigh surged into the lead on lap two and quickly established control, while Gosselin fought forward from a fifth-place start to take over second on lap three, setting the stage for a head-to-head fight at the front.

Two laps later, the battle took an abrupt turn when Gosselin was out of the race, ending his charge and shifting the complexion of the race. VanHorsigh remained composed out front and rode on to secure his third victory in the last four finals, strengthening his position in the championship fight. Thomas Didier completed a strong two-podium weekend by inheriting second and maintaining the spot to the finish, while Salvatore Labeau earned his best result of round two with a third-place finish.

Specialty Box & Crate Junior 14–15: Points leader Carter VanHorsigh continued his midseason surge in the Junior 14–15 class, taking control on lap two and riding away to secure his fourth consecutive victory. Once out front, VanHorsigh set a relentless pace and steadily extended his advantage, further strengthening his grip on the championship standings.

Eli Boisvert made an immediate impact in his season debut, grabbing the holeshot and settling into second, where he maintained a comfortable gap to earn a strong runner-up finish and leave New York with hardware. Ryder Harnois moved into third early and held firm under late pressure from a charging Jackson Goike, securing his fourth straight podium with a hard-fought third-place result.

Lakeland Powersports Junior Girls 9-13: Charlie Buteau entered round eight of the Lakeland Powersports Junior Girls 9–13 class unbeaten and in familiar territory at the front of the field, but Saturday’s final in Salamanca delivered a new storyline. Eva Gifford rocketed off the start to claim the holeshot and immediately set the pace, building a steady advantage and leading wire to wire. Unchallenged out front, Gifford rode a flawless race to capture her first win of the season and sixth podium finish overall.

Buteau, meanwhile, faced rare adversity after launching off the line in fifth and navigating traffic in the opening laps. The points leader methodically worked forward, breaking into second with two laps remaining and securing the runner-up finish. Lila Hemmer also charged late, slipping past Peyton Weisbrod in the closing laps to claim third and complete the podium.

Arctic FX Junior 10-13: Ryan Shimanski’s commanding season in the Arctic FX Junior 10–13 class continued Saturday in Salamanca, as the points leader remained unbeaten in both heat race and final competition this winter. Shimanski grabbed the early lead and delivered another wire-to-wire victory, extending his perfect record and reinforcing his control of the championship chase.

Behind him, Tommy Roy rebounded from a seventh-place start, advancing into podium contention by mid-race before securing the runner-up position over the closing laps. Jack Gelinas moved into third on lap two and maintained the spot to earn his third consecutive podium finish, continuing a strong stretch of consistent results.

Anderson’s Maple Syrup Transition 9-13: Points leader Ryan Shimanski completed a flawless day in the Transition 9–13 class, sweeping both heat races and the final to secure his sixth victory of the season. Shimanski established control early and maintained a steady pace out front, but the closing laps brought mounting pressure as the field tightened behind him.

Friday night winner Tommy Roy mounted a determined charge from a seventh-place start, climbing into second by lap three and setting his sights on a weekend sweep. Roy steadily reeled in the leader and closed to within .493 of a second on the final lap before crossing the line in a hard-earned runner-up finish. Logan Bruch added to his consistent season with a third-place result, marking his fifth podium of the year.

SPEEDWERX Transition 8-10: Deegan Giguere capped a standout weekend in the Speedwerx Transition 8–10 class with a dominant performance on Saturday, completing the sweep after his Friday night victory. Giguere grabbed the early lead and never looked back, delivering a convincing wire-to-wire win while gaining valuable ground in his season-long points battle with leader Noah Kuhn. With Kuhn finishing fifth, Giguere trimmed the deficit by ten points over the course of the weekend.

Behind him, Wyatt Miller made decisive late moves to secure the runner-up position, fending off pressure from Jake Archambault in the closing laps. Archambault rebounded from a sixth-place start, charging through the field and closing in late before settling for third — marking his third podium finish in just four rounds this season.

Rox Speed FX Stock 200: Tessa Naastad launched off the line with clear intent, grabbing the holeshot and leading early as she chased her second Rox Speed FX Stock 200 victory of the season. Behind her, Deegan Giguere began a determined charge from a sixth-place start, methodically working through traffic and closing the gap as the laps wound down. With three laps remaining, Giguere reached Naastad’s rear bumper, set up the pass, and surged into the lead before pulling away on the final lap to secure his first win since Round Five.

Naastad remained composed after surrendering the top spot, maintaining her rhythm to secure the runner-up finish. Russell Walsh applied late pressure but settled for third at the line, earning his second podium finish of the weekend after a hard-fought final-lap battle.

Rox Speed FX 120 Champ: Deegan Giguere continued his surge in the Rox Speed FX 120 Champ class, turning a strong start into another commanding victory on Saturday. Giguere grabbed the early lead and steadily stretched his advantage over the field, securing his second straight win while extending his championship points lead.

Round one winner Lincoln Skar advanced into second on lap two and maintained the position to the finish, keeping himself firmly in the title hunt in second overall behind Giguere. Vincenzo moved into third on lap three and rode a consistent race from there, holding off Gaborik Geyen in the closing laps to secure the final podium position.
