Harr Hangs Tough, Rookie Rinne Lead Pro Charges at ERX

Mar 8, 2026

Elk River, Minn. ~ Saturday at ERX Motor Park brought a new set of challenges for the CFMoto Snocross National, round 12 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross season presented by Brunt Workwear. After a Friday night program that featured a wave of first-time winners and dramatic finishes as winter and spring weather mixed across the massive Elk River layout, teams returned to the track knowing the championship window was rapidly closing.

Warmer temperatures on Saturday transformed the course yet again. Deepening holes, rougher rhythm sections, and a constantly evolving surface tested riders and equipment throughout the evening. With just five rounds remaining in the season, the urgency in the paddock was unmistakable — making it a now-or-never moment as the world’s best snowmobile racers battled for position, podiums, and critical championship points.

Harr Holds Off Charging Dillon in High-Intensity Pro Final

After showing winning speed Friday night before a crash ended his run, defending AMSOIL Pro champion Emil Harr returned Saturday determined to capitalize. Harr worked his way forward early and by lap two had taken the lead away from Hunter Patenaude. From there, the veteran rode a clean race out front, setting the pace while the battle behind him intensified.

The closing laps turned into a thriller as rookie Crayden Dillon mounted a charge through the field. Starting eighth, Dillon carved through traffic and worked his way into contention before setting the fastest lap of the race on lap 13. With the gap shrinking, Dillon rapidly tracked down Harr, turning the final laps into a high-intensity chase as the two navigated rough track conditions and lapped traffic.

Harr held firm under the pressure, staying mistake-free to capture his third win of the season. The victory came at a critical moment in the championship battle as points leader Jordan Lebel was knocked out early and finished last, allowing Harr (and Dillon) to close the gap to eight points with just two race weekends remaining.

“It felt good that I was able to get up to the front early in this race,” said Harr. “I was able to find a good pace, and yeah, it was a good race overall. My whole team has been working really hard and pushing me, and I want to thank them all.”

Dillon’s charge came up just short, but his runner-up finish marked his ninth straight podium and a tie with Harr for second overall. Round two winner Daniel Benham ran second through the middle portion of the race before settling into third to earn his fourth podium of the season.

Rinne Rallies for First Career Pro Lite Win in Dramatic ERX Finish

The U.S Air Force Pro Lite final at ERX Motor Park delivered late-race drama as multiple contenders took turns at the front. Points leader Cameron Cole grabbed the Stud Boy holeshot, but early contact forced him over the inside berm and onto the ground, shuffling the running order as the field streamed past.

That opened the door for round seven winner Eric Downs, who surged to the lead for the second straight night. Downs built a commanding advantage and appeared in control with a seven-second lead as the race entered its final laps. But with three laps remaining, Downs got crossed up just after the finish line and had to refire his sled, erasing his cushion and allowing Topi Rinne to close rapidly.

Rinne, making his season debut at ERX, capitalized on the opportunity and powered into the lead. Downs quickly remounted and caught Rinne the same lap, but the Finnish rider carried the momentum and maintained control to the checkered flag, earning his first career Pro Lite victory.

“It’s awesome, like a dream came true,” said Rinne. “It was rewarding because I was like last in all of my qualifying heats this weekend. I couldn’t be happier with the win.”

Downs’ late charge fell just short, but his runner-up finish marked his third straight podium. Brandon Nelson rode a consistent race near the front throughout, holding off the pack — including Domenic Hegman — to secure third and his second podium of the season.

Hauger Handles Traffic, Holds Off Hemmer in Pro AM Women Thriller

Saturday night’s Bikeman Performance Pro AM Women’s Women final delivered the anticipated showdown between the top two riders in the championship standings, Avery Hemmer and Inanna Hauger. Both riders were caught in a first-turn crash on Friday that left them well off the podium, but they rebounded in round 12 with a fierce head-to-head battle at ERX.

Hauger grabbed the holeshot with points leader Hemmer immediately in tow, and the two quickly separated themselves from the field. As the laps wound down, lapped traffic began to play a major role, forcing both riders to pick lines through heavy congestion on the rough, deteriorating track. Hauger maintained the advantage but had to stay composed as Hemmer closed repeatedly while navigating slower sleds. On the final lap, Hauger threaded through traffic cleanly and created just enough separation to secure her second win of the season.

“This weekend’s been a battle,” said Hauger. “Just came into today with a new mindset and was just ready to go and put a whole race together. My mindset was that I was just not getting beat tonight, and we did it.”

Hemmer, who has missed the podium only twice all year, stayed glued to Hauger’s rear bumper through the chaos and crossed the line in second after an intense run through traffic. Victoria Dillon also rebounded from Friday’s opening-turn incident, working forward through the field and slipping past Kendall Rose on lap five to claim the final podium spot in third.

Kern Keeps Rolling with Second Straight Pro AM Plus 30 Victory

Just a week ago, Travis Kern wasn’t even sure he would line up at ERX Motor Park. After turning a few laps in a short 20-minute practice session, he decided to make his season debut in the Thomas Sno Sports Pro AM Plus 30 class — and the decision has paid immediate dividends. Kern captured Friday night’s final with a dramatic last-lap pass, and on Saturday he backed it up in dominant fashion.

Kern grabbed the holeshot and quickly opened a gap on the field, controlling the race from start to finish to secure his second win of the weekend and the second victory of his short Pro AM Plus 30 career.

“Like I said last night, I just came out here to have fun,” said Kern. “I really had no expectations. I would like to think I could do good, but you never know until you get on the track again.”

Behind him, the podium order shifted post-race after points leader Corin Todd and Brian Petersen were caught up in yellow flag infractions. Tyler Oomen capitalized on the penalties to move into the runner-up position, while Adam S. Johnson secured third to record his second podium finish of the season.

Knudson Completes Weekend Sweep in Sport

After a red flag halted the initial start, the Pirtek Sport final reset for a second run — and the result looked very familiar. Friday night winner Tavin Knudson once again grabbed the holeshot and immediately distanced himself from the field. Taking advantage of intense battles behind him, Knudson quickly opened a massive gap and by the end of lap two had built a five-second lead. The rider, who missed much of the season, never looked back and rode away to complete the weekend sweep.

Jimmy Stanisich, who swept the weekend in New York and narrowly missed the podium on Friday, charged forward during the race. Moving from fourth to second on lap five, Stanisich pulled clear of the battle behind him to secure the runner-up position. Shade Meyer completed the podium after making a decisive last lap pass on Parker Krumm, earning his second podium finish of the season.

Meyer Masters Sport Lite Final After Early Shake-Up

The FlexToy Powersports Rentals Sport Lite final took an early turn when points leader Carter vanHorsigh’s winning streak came to an abrupt halt at the start. vanHorsigh left the line early and was forced to pull off and restart from the back of the field, opening the door out front.

Lincoln Meyer capitalized immediately, slipping into the lead and taking control of the race from the opening laps. Meyer set the pace throughout and held strong to the finish, capturing his first victory of the season.

Behind him, Zach Miller — celebrating his 16th birthday — kept the pressure on and rode to a strong second-place finish, earning his second podium of the year. Salvatore LaBeau completed the podium, holding off Riley Johnson in the closing laps to secure his third straight podium result with a third-place finish.

Specialty Box & Crate Junior 14–15: Carter vanHorsigh’s command of the Junior 14–15 class continued Saturday at ERX Motor Park. The points leader wasted no time getting to the front, jumping into the lead early and steadily pulling away from the field to secure his sixth victory of the season.

Friday night winner Jackson Goike kept vanHorsigh within sight in the opening laps before settling into a comfortable runner-up position, earning his fifth podium finish in the past six rounds. Tyson Kielman was locked in a tight battle for fourth with Mason Broden when Broden dropped out of contention, opening the door for Kielman to move into the final podium spot. Kielman capitalized on the opportunity, finishing third to claim his second podium of the weekend and the season.

Lakeland Powersports Junior Girls 9-13: Charlie Buteau’s seven-race win streak to start the season may have ended in New York, but the points leader quickly returned to form Saturday at ERX. After extending her podium streak with a runner-up finish on Friday, Buteau battled back from a fifth-place start and made two decisive passes on the final lap to capture her eighth victory of the season.

Vivian Yager controlled the race early, leading from the start and appearing poised for the win before Buteau’s late charge. Yager crossed the line in second, earning her first podium finish of the season. Round eight winner Eva Gifford remained a consistent presence near the front, running in second for much of the race before settling for third on the final lap to secure her third straight podium result.

Arctic FX Junior 10-13: Ryan Shimanski’s commanding season in the Arctic FX Junior 10–13 class continued Saturday at ERX Motor Park. With the class racing only once per weekend, Shimanski made the most of his opportunity, jumping out to an early lead and steadily pulling away from the field to secure his fifth straight victory.

Jack Gelinas continued his consistent run near the front, riding from start to finish in second to earn his fourth consecutive podium result. Arlan Kenyon capitalized on a strong start and maintained his pace throughout the race to capture his first podium finish of the season with a third-place ride.

Anderson’s Maple Syrup Transition 9-13: Ryan Shimanski controlled Friday’s Transition 9–13 final from start to finish, but Saturday’s round 12 contest at ERX demanded a late-race push from the points leader. Isaac Otto appeared poised to capture his second victory of the season after setting the early pace, but Shimanski had his sights set on extending another win streak. With two laps remaining, Shimanski made the decisive pass for the lead and powered away to secure his third straight victory.

Otto’s challenge faded in the closing laps, opening the door for the battle behind him to reshape the podium. Bryson McKelvey and Jack Gelinas had been locked in a tight fight for third and fourth when Otto dropped out of contention, promoting both riders up a position. McKelvey finished second and Gelinas third, giving each rider their first podium finish of the season.

SPEEDWERX Transition 8-10: Points leader Noah Kuhn added another win to his impressive season in the Transition 8–10 class on Saturday at ERX. Sullivan Bergman, who charged from the back of the field to earn a podium on Friday, started out front in the final and looked poised to secure his first win of the year. But Kuhn, already sitting on six victories this season, made his move on lap three and steadily pulled away from the field to capture win number seven.

Bergman, competing in just his fourth race of the season, stayed within striking distance but ultimately settled for second, marking his fourth podium finish of the year. Deegan Giguere slotted into third off the start and maintained the position to earn his first podium finish of the weekend.

Rox Speed FX Stock 200: Harrison Skar put together a strong weekend at ERX Motor Park, bouncing back after a difficult round in New York to sweep the Stock 200 finals in Elk River. After capturing the win on Friday night, the points leader returned Saturday and delivered another commanding performance, leading from start to finish to secure his second victory of the season.

Round eight winner Deegan Giguere kept the pressure on throughout the race but settled into the runner-up position at the checkered flag. Behind them, Russell Walsh worked his way into third to secure his fourth podium finish of the season and continue a consistent run in the class championship.

Rox Speed FX 120 Champ: Round two winner Kody Krantz returned to the top of the podium in the 120 Champ final Saturday night at ERX. After Deegan Giguere led the opening lap, Krantz made his move on lap two, taking over the lead and steadily pulling away from the field to secure his second victory of the season.

Points leader Giguere saw his two-race win streak come to an end but still collected valuable championship points with a runner-up finish. Lyla Judnick completed the podium after riding a consistent race in third from start to finish, earning her first podium finish of the season.
