Shakopee, Minn. (January 6, 2014) Zak Mason raced to the first two podiums of his young Pro Lite career, finishing second and third respectively at rounds five and six of AMSOIL Championship Snocross competition. Consistent qualifying is proving to be Mason’s biggest asset and with his latest main event results, he now finds himself in fourth place in the class championship, not far behind teammate Corin Todd in second.

Trevor Leighton also scored his first podium of the season, finishing just behind Mason for third on Friday night. Leighton, who has a history of turning it up at the start of the calendar year, never finished outside of the top two positions during weekend qualifying, including a win on Friday. After a rough start at the season opener, Leighton has climbed from deep in the pack to sixth place in the standings.

Corin Todd missed getting on the box for the first time this season but still managed to maintain his runner-up spot in the standings. Todd, qualified well all weekend and at one point in Friday’s final was leading a team freight train running second, third and fourth, before he hooked a berm and dropped back several spots.

One negative note from the weekend was a practice crash that resulted in a leg injury for defending Pro Am Women’s champion Jennifer Pare. X rays did not reveal any breaks but Jenny had to sit out the weekend and will be undergoing further evaluation this week.
