Elk River, Minnesota (May 7, 2015) – It has been a season of firsts for Carlson Motorsports Pro-Lite racer (and future Pro-Open rider) Ryan Springer. His first as a pro rider, his first pro win, his first pro championship, his first ISOC Rookie of the Year award, and now his first major accolade as SnoX365 named Springer 2015 Racer of the Year.

    As SnoX365 publisher and editor Gary Walton pointed out prior to honoring Springer with the award, “…it was a difficult task we had in front of us. It would have been easy enough to say Tucker Hibbert should be Racer of the Year…but this is not a hall of fame vote. It’s about who made the most of the 2014-15 season, setting themselves apart from the pack…Springer was that guy.”

    Springer entered the national snocross scene just two seasons ago with very little racing experience. By season’s end, he had won the National Sport title and looked to hone his skills in the ultra competitive Pro-Lite division the following year. As Springer put it, he was merely hoping to be competitive, gain some valuable knowledge and seat time in what many consider the most competitive class on the national tour, and maybe even gain some podium finishes along the way. He did all that and much more.

    Excerpts from the SnoX365 article best sums up Springer’s season where he started off with a win in Duluth, cooled the following races and then found his game. “A blue-collar kid with a bulldozer riding style, Springer began to slow his roll and mature into a true racer…growing confidence led to six wins in the final 10 races, clinching the championship with a round to spare. With each result, he became a smarter rider both on and off the sled.”
