Warm weather meant little seat time for Hentges Racing headed into the Snocross season opener three weekends ago. But a lot can change in three weeks, and team riders Kody Kamm and Petter Narsa entered this past weekend’s event in Fraser, Colorado, more than prepared for competition. Adventure Snow Park played host, and race organizers carved a wide, fast track into the side of the hill at the popular recreation area. Speed was key, with weather and Fraser’s 8,500-foot altitude also adding to the challenge for racers.

Seat time paid off for Kamm, who scored a 3^rd place podium finish on Friday, taking 2^nd and 3^rd place heat finishes along the way. Saturday he was top qualifier for the final but got a poor start, and with so much snow dust on the track making up ground was a slow process. Kamm played it smart, bringing home a 5^th place finish just behind his teammate.

“I was happy to be back on the podium Friday,” Kamm said. “I had good speed and felt really good on the sled this weekend. I couldn’t see anything Saturday night because the snow dust was so bad. Looking forward to racing in Shakopee in a couple weeks!”

Narsa logged a 5^th place finish behind Kamm on Friday, then narrowly missed the podium on Saturday taking 4^th place. Narsa was a model of consistency in what, for many riders, was a challenging weekend of racing with bad weather and poor visibility.

“Overall the team had a good weekend,” said Narsa. “The crew worked hard to get our machines set up and it showed – we were at the front every time we hit the track. Looking forward to making more progress at the next event and getting on the podium.”

Next up for Hentges Racing is the hometown race at Canterbury Park for the Pirtek Snocross National, January 6-8, in Shakopee, Minnesota.
