The team hit the track for the first ever ISOC race in Colorado after a good week of testing and getting the sleds ready for the high-elevation and cold temps that they would deal with at Colorado Adventure Park.
Gusty winds and blowing snow and below zero temps was defiantly a challenge for the team to overcome. The Woodies Racing crew has really been working hard to get the sleds as fast and competitive as possible for each time they take to the track, and after just two events together they are working well together and we are pleased with the hard work and dedication they put forth. We had some good runs for our riders this weekend from all and have riders in the top 10 in pro open, pro lite, pro women, and sport. Also Taven Woodie continues her winning streak in the Woodies Racing
JR Girls class.
In the pro am 30 plus class Woodies backed rider Wes Selby came out on top in the final with a pass for the lead at the checkered flag. Wes was also the number one qualifier in the snobike class but had a problem in the final.
Woodies Racing primary snobike rider #62 Cody Thomsen was at ERX for the 2017 snobike X Games qualifier where he won the overall in the AMA Championship Snow Bike Series and finished 6th in the X Games qualifier.
– Pro open rider Justin Broberg continued to work hard, putting in some good heats he raced his way to the front row on Friday and finished 8th. Saturday was cold and nasty with poor visibility, Justin made his way to the final with a second in the pro open LCQ. A terrible start in the final was hard to overcome and he finished 12th.
– Pro lite rider Tyler Adams after a tuff start of the weekend, Saturday he finished third in both of his heat races , and ninth in the final.
Adams On his weekend at the Colorado National:
“Very blessed to come out of this weekend healthy after battling Mother Nature. First day it was so windy you’d start on one side of a jump and land on the opposite side, and today it was pretty cold with no wind which made the snow dust heavy and visibility zero to none on one of the roughest tracks I’ve rode on. Friday night I ended up in the lcq and went down, which ended my night. Ended up 9th Saturday in the main. Just gotta keep building off of each weekend. Thanks to my family, my team, all of our sponsors, and my friends for all of the support! Can’t wait for the triple header in Canterbury!”
– In sport Kaden had a good weekend winning some heat races and finished fourth in the final on Friday. Saturday Kaden battled hard in the final but got stuck in the pack and had to deal with heavy snow dust and temps in the single digits where he finished tenth.
Woodie On his weekend at the Colorado National:
” felt good this last weekend I had HUGE improvements that I’ve finally been looking for. Friday going 1-2 in my heats qualifying 2nd in the final to finish with a solid 4th (my best finish). Saturday came out winning my first race, rd2 i wrecked finishing 8th sending me to the lcq where I finished 2nd making me 12th qualifier. With the very low visibility and brutal roost I was able to come from last to 10.”
– Pro Am women’s rider Jennifer Martel
had a good weekend with a couple top ten finishes. Jennifer ended the day in sixth place in both the pro women’s finals.
– Sport lite riders Jordan Brinkman and Mitchell Gross both showed signs of improvement . Brinkman finished fourth on Friday and fifth on Saturday.
The team continues to work hard and looks forward to the next round of the ISOC National Snocross,The Canterbury Park National in Shakopee, Minn.
