Ramstad Trail to be Dedicated

admin Recent Posts

Please join the DNR and members of MnUSA as the North Shore Trail is dedicated
as the C.J. Ramstad/North Shore Trail. The ceremony will take place at the
C.J Ramstad/North Shore Trail at the Martin Road parking lot in Duluth on
September 30th at 11:00 AM.

The name change was made by past MnUSA President and Region 7 Director
Greg Sorenson and Representative David Dill and Senator Tom Bakk and support
from Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

It’s one of the few snowmobile trails in the state of Minnesota that
bear a person’s name. The re-naming of the North Shore Trail took place in 2009,
and is now official with signage and maps.

C.J. Ramstad, the former editor and publisher of Minnesota Snowmobiling
and motorized recreation advocate, died in 2007.

The North Shore Trail was one of his favorite places to ride.
