Team Press: Tucker Hibbert Aims for Historic Win at 20th Annual Duluth National

Tucker Hibbert, the defending ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series (ACSS) Pro Open Champion, will begin his 2012 championship chase at the 20th Annual AMSOIL Duluth National this weekend. The Monster Energy/Arctic Cat rider has swept the Duluth, Minn. season opener the past three years by winning both the Pro Stock and Pro Open classes. ACSS dropped the Stock class this year, giving Pros the opportunity to run modified equipment in the Open class twice per weekend.
History runs deep for the Hibbert name on Spirit Mountain. Tucker’s legendary father, Kirk, won the inaugural snocross race held on the ski hill in 1992. Eight years later, Tucker made an unforgettable Pro debut at age 16 besting the sport’s top contenders to win the Open final. Now, the two work side-by-side with Kirk dedicating his time at the track tuning Tucker’s equipment.

Entering his 12th professional season, Tucker will unleash Arctic Cat’s all-new race machine Friday night in a big money, non-points race. The AMSOIL Dominator event will feature 16 Pro riders in head-to-head bracket elimination competition for the chance to take home $10,000.
This weekend has the potential of going down in history as one of Tucker’s career highlights. If his wins both Saturday and Sunday’s Open finals, he’ll sweep the event for the fourth-consecutive year and will clinch his 68th career National Pro win. Fans can watch the event live online at www.ustream.tv/xsantv and catch the behind the scenes action on NBC Sports Sunday, December 18 at 5 p.m. EST.

“There’s something really special about racing on Spirit Mountain. The anticipation and excitement is unlike any other race venue. With the 20th anniversary this year, I have a feeling it’s going to be the best year yet. To win my 68th career race on Arctic Cat’s new chassis at the first race of the season would be an awesome accomplishment. Between the new Dominator race and two rounds of Open racing, fans are in for three days of intense racing!”
