After a successful inaugural season in snocross competition, Damexco Racing is pleased to announce their 2013 athlete lineup, and renewed partnership with Ski-Doo snowmobiles.
Damexco Racing will consist of four athletes – two Pros, one Pro Lite, and one Pro Women. The impressive lineup will make Damexco Racing a powerful contender on the East Coast Snocross (ECS) and ISOC National series.
Returning to the ECS Pro division is former national standout, and former ESPN Winter X Games competitor, Mathieu Morin. Morin dominated the 2011 ECS season by winning both Pro Championships – and will look to defend his titles for 2013.
“I am very excited to return back to the ECS series and race for Damexco,” Morin said. “I met Luc (Brunelle) in 2010 and was very impressed with his focus and determination to succeed. I expect big things not only on the ECS tour, but also at the National events we compete in.”
Joining Morin in the Pro series is rookie Lucas Brunelle who is hot off his impressive 2012 season. Brunelle is the defending Pro Lite Champion and looks to turn heads in the Pro division.
“I can’t wait to move up to the Pro division full-time,” Brunelle said. “Towards the end of last year I was able to run some Pro races and actually led some laps in my first race. We showed the speed last year to run with them and I look forward to competing with them on a weekly basis.”
Leading the charge in the Pro Lite division is Adam Sedlmeier. At age 15, Sedlmeier earned a position as an ESPN Winter X Games alternate. Since then, he has earned numerous ECS Pro Lite victories and battled for championships. After sitting out a majority of the past three seasons, Sedlmeier came back in 2011 to compete in two events – winning the final two races that he competed in.
“I am very excited to return to Ski-doo and race with a team like Damexco,” Sedlmeier said. “I have been training hard all year and really look forward to our chances to contend for the Championship.”
Rounding out the team line-up will be Cassidy Kislowski. Kislowski won the overall Women Novice Championship in 2012 and looks to be a contender as she competes in the Pro Women division.
“We are really excited with this year’s team,” said Luc Brunelle, Team Owner for Damexco Racing. “I have a lot of faith in our riders to not only win on the track, but represent our brand off the track. I am also excited to extend our partnership with Ski-Doo. As a team owner, it is my job to have our racers using the best equipment possible and having them on Ski-Doo enables just that. I believe 2013 will be a very bright year for Damexco Racing.”
In addition to its North American team, Damexco racing also adds Damexco Europe. The European team will consist of two Switzerland racers, Rudy Liaudat and Loic Michel. Liaudat is the two-time, defending Switzerland Pro Open Champion and expects to “contend for wins in every race.” Michel is also the defending Switzerland Promo Champion and looks to be a contender in the Switzerland Elite series for 2013.
“My hope in forming Damexco Europe is that I want Damexco to be international,” said Brunelle. “I believe the Europe market is growing rapidly – Russia, Sweden, Italy, and even China are coming into the sport of Snocross. I believe both teams can benefit greatly from this partnership.”
