Andrew Carlson Takes Over ERX Beatercross Opener with Victory

Elk River, Minnesota (June 24, 2013) – All the excitement of Beatercross returned to ERX Motorpark June 6th for the kickoff of the fourth season. Minivans, compact cars, light trucks and side-x-side utility vehicles alike showed up to take on the rugged and challenging track. After a several month racing hiatus due to a knee injury suffered while racing in Sweden, Carlson Motorsports rider Andrew Carlson was eager to get on the track. Carlson had his best season ever last winter in the pro lite ranks of the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series, and he quickly proved on Thursday that he is ready to compete.

Although Carlson is still in the midst of rehabilitation and uses crutches to get around, he was still able to dominate the field in the UTV Open Class in his Amsoil Polaris RZR.  Carlson shot off the gate in heat one and he really never looked back, winning both heat races by a large margin.  In the final Carlson pulled yet another big holeshot and he walked away from the pack. Although Carlson’s doctors may not have approved, #151 was smiling from ear to ear all night—just happy to be racing again.

Carlson is set to race again at ERX Motorpark on June 27th, and will be competing in select UTV cross country events this summer as he continues to recover.  For more information on the ERX Motor Park facility in Elk River, MN visit www.erxmotorpark.com
