Shakopee, MN (January 3 – 5, 2014). The temperatures have yet to give the riders a break; Canterbury Park was host to round 3 of the ISOC National Snocross Series. Saturday morning Wittwer started off the day ripping out of the gates with the holeshot to take the checkers in round 1 of Jr. 14-15. Round 2 Wittwer went off the track in lap 2 having to battle through riders to come back from 5th to take 2nd by only 0.041 seconds. Having 2nd pick on the line for the final Wittwer finished with a 2nd place podium. In Jr. 16-17 Wittwer was consistent going 2-2 in the heats and a 2nd in the final. This wrapped up the day of Nationals and on to Regional racing Sunday.
With some minor changes to the track Wittwer started off by taking a 2nd in round 1 of Jr. 14-15. But not settling for 2nd Wittwer found new lines for round 2 doubling through the rhythm section landing a 1st place finish in round 2 and a 2nd in the final.
The changing track and cold weather didn’t challenge the Speedwerx/Arctic Cat rider Wittwer; knowing he had his sled dialed he swept Jr. 16-17 going 1-1-1 and followed it up with another sweep in Sport class going 1-1-1. Bringing the weekend to a successful ending Wittwer was very happy with his 5 podium finishes and what he had accomplished.
Next up will be round 4 of Regional racing at ERX in Elk River, MN January 11-12, 2014.
