Hentges Racing Perseveres at USAF Fargo National and Returns to The Podium

Shakopee, Minn. (Dec. 17, 2014) –Determined to make a bold statement after a challenging situation in the opening rounds of the 2014-15′ International Series of Champions (ISOC) AMSOIL Championship Snocross (ACS) race season, team Hentges showed their mettle in the fourth round with one podium finish from the U.S. Air Force National at Buffalo River Race Park (BRRP) in Glyndon, Minn. Polaris Industries / Monster Energy / FXR Racing phenom “Big Air” Kody Kamm rode back onto the podium in typical fashion with a third place finish.

Lining up from the far outside in Fridays’ final and moving up to fifth after a decent start on the first lap, Kamm on his Polaris Industries / Monster Energy / FXR Racing machine would crash early with twenty laps to go, have to remount the sled, and fall back into 14th by lap two. Broberg would stay in the top 10 through the halfway point after a tough start in the back row. Kamm was able to move up five positions to ninth, Broberg finishes in 11th.

After a dramatic start to the season team owner, Nate Hentges, told the team to “forget about the points.” He said, “We have a fresh start. Go for the wins.”

Kamm and Broberg did just that in round four after qualifying 1-1 and 2-2, respectively.
“Friday was just a complete off day for me. I told myself I have to reset and I turned it around pretty quickly,” said Broberg. “The track was brutal all weekend and I am happy to be going home in one piece.”

The final day at BRRP was called the “Kody Kamm show in Fargo” by the announcers. A teammate battle in front of the fans on matching Pirtek / AMSOIL / Polaris Industries machines for first and second places in round one qualifying was also when Kamm put down a 25.3 second lap time, the fastest lap time of the weekend. They would move on as round four top qualifiers in number one and number two.

Kamm held off the pack for the holeshot in the 23 lap main event – taking home another Stud Boy Holeshot award. Broberg started mid-pack in eighth and said in the final he “had a rough start and wasn’t able to gain any positions”. The Kamm vs. Hibbert battle started early on and Kamm lost the lead to him when Hibbert found the faster outside line by lap three. In the end Kamm finished on the podium in third place. Broberg would finish just outside of the top 10, in 11th place.

“I was riding good today despite the conditions. I got three out of three holeshots so that definitely was a highlight for me. The track was so crazy and so rough. It was such a challenge to stay out in the lead – I had snow in my goggles which made it tough to see. Tucker and Ross rode great. I just needed to stay on my sled and get on the podium again,” said Kamm.

Broberg is currently ninth with 105 points in the Pro Open point standings and 12 rounds remaining in the ACS. After a solid day and playing clean up from a challenging opening weekend, Kamm sits in seventh place in the point standings with 114 points. With a goal of finishing in the top five in the year-end standings, Hentges Racing will focus on consistent performance and landing on the podium.
