Kaukauna, WI – After this three week break we are ready to get back into racing mode. We left Fargo with some work to do. Luke Wollenberg had a hard off in his first heat on Friday. The following week, we found out it was a Tibia Plateau Fracture and a torn Meniscus; he immediately had surgery which consisted of putting a plate and ten screws in. Wollenberg is in his third week of recovery and progressing ahead of schedule. His return to racing this season is still unknown. “I am disappointed with my injury,” Wollenberg states, “ I put in countless hours at the gym preparing for the season and I’m crushed that I’ve been set back. I had the team, equipment and support needed to put me out front.”
Although Wollenberg’s injury is a set back, we are excited to announce that we have added Jake Angove, # 177, to our program. Angove lives in Oconomowoc, WI and is a rider in the Pro Lite class. He is currently sitting 5th in points, only a mere 17 points behind first place. “I am very excited and thankful that the Wollenberg Motorsports Team is giving me this opportunity. I’ve had a great start to the season and I think teaming up will help me do even better. Kurt Wollenberg and the rest of the crew are all great guys and I’m excited to have Jake Geeseman as my teammate as well. I know we can help each other achieve better results and I look forward to the rest of the season!” Angove said.
Luke Wollenberg also added, “ I am very excited to have Jake Angove on the team. He is an impressive rider and has a great amount of talent. Since I met him I’ve thought the world of him and his dad, Steve. They are some of the nicest, and most appreciative people at the track. I’m honored to have them join the team, and I wish them nothing but success.”
Jake Geeseman is looking forward to having Angove a part the team. Having someone to watch lines with and discuss track changes is key to a successful program. “I was pretty bummed when I heard that Luke had a leg injury. However I’m happy to welcome Jake Angove to the team! I think this is something that we can all benefit from. I’m looking forward to Canterbury and getting back on the box!”
Team owner, Kurt Wollenberg, states when asked, “I am excited to have Jake Angove on the team. He is having an excellent year and I hope with our help it will be even better. We have known Jake and his Dad, Steve, for quite sometime and we get along well. With Steve’s 30 years as a mechanic and his attention to detail, I believe all the riders will have even more confidence in their equipment!”
Next on the schedule is the Canterbury National in Shakopee, MN on Friday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 10.
