Lake Nebagamon, Wisc. – January 12, 2015 – Ross Martin utilized great starts all weekend to put his Axalta/Jack Link’s/AMSOIL Polaris at the front of the pack, going on to win his first Pro Open main event of the season on Friday.

Martin’s confidence in his Polaris racer continues to grow as demonstrated by the moves he was making right out of the gate in practice. Martin was the only rider all weekend to triple into turn one easily distancing himself from competitors each time he did.

On Saturday, Ross finished first and second in his qualifiers and battled near the front of the pack in the main event, finishing on the podium again, this time in the third position. Despite some bad luck to start the season, Martin has shot back into the championship battle.

James Johnstad continued to assert himself as a title contender in the Pro Lite division scoring a third place podium on Friday. Johnstad was consistently in the top two spots throughout Friday and Saturday qualifying but ran into some bad luck early in Saturday’s final, finishing 10th.

The team has one weekend off before traveling to the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado where Ross is primed to capture a gold medal. The following week will begin a series of back-to-back rounds on the national tour, criss-crossing from the Deadwood Shootout in the Black Hills to upstate New York for the Seneca Allegany U.S. Air Force National.

The facility at Canterbury Park is the ultimate snocross venue as fans always come out in full force to witness some of the most competitive racing of the season.

Ross talks to our guests from Axalta and Midwest Industrial Coatings, Inc., who were on hand all weekend and able to tour the transporter just prior to opening ceremonies each night.
