Officials announce new Sunoco Sunday Holeshot award at East Coast Snocross, Presented by AMSOIL, Woody’s Traction and FXR
CLARKSBURG, Mass. (Nov. 13, 2015) – Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) have announced a new cash award bonus program for 2016. This program is created to make it a little easier for teams to compete throughout the season.
The Sunoco Sunday Holeshot award will boost the purse across four classes at all ECS points-paying events. The award will go to the first rider to reach a designated spot before Turn 1 in each class. This exciting program was made possible thanks to longtime series partner John Holland at New England Racing Fuel in Burlington, Connecticut.
“This new program is the first of many we’re putting together this year to help teams and riders with the cost of racing,” series owner Kurt Gagne said. “Thanks to John and Sunoco’s valued support, we can boost the payout for Sunday finals in the Pro, Pro Lite, Pro Women and Sport Stock classes. We appreciate these partners and hope to announce additional programs in the coming weeks.”
With this new added bonus money available, the incentive to get that holeshot just doubled. The Sunoco Sunday Holeshot award will pay $100 to the quickest off the line in Pro; $75 in Pro Lite; $75 in Pro Women and $50 in Sport Stock. Just another reason not to miss a single ECS class Final on Sunday afternoons this winter.
“I think from recent team news we’re going to see a very competitive season ahead,” Gagne added. “It’s exciting to see the industry excited about racing again after another solid winter last year. This kind of support bodes well for the future of our sport. Thanks to other valued partners like Philbrick Motorsports, we’re working to draw new kids into snocross, as well. It’s what we need to do.”
New England Racing Fuel, based in Burlington, Connecticut, is the northeast regional distributor for Sunoco Racing Fuels, including the fuel used by ECS teams. Sunoco makes the world’s top high-octane fuels recognized by racers of every type, from short track ovals to drag racers. Sunoco is the ‘Official Fuel’ of NASCAR, IndyCar, the NHRA and over 75 other sanctioned racing series.
As a reminder, ECS will be selling NERF’s Sunoco Race Gas through its online race registration during the entire season. Fuel ordered by Wednesday will be delivered to the race site on Friday.
East Coast Snocross, presented by Woody’s Traction, AMSOIL and FXR, is an ISR-affiliated sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States. ECS maintains a regional circuit intended to keep grass-roots snocross racing healthy in this part of the country, while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed Pro teams.
