Winnipeg, MB. – January 26, 2016 – Adam Renheim made his way to the Pro Open podium for a third consecutive event, as he battled side-by-side with two riders on the final lap to secure second place on day two of the U.S. Air Force National in Deadwood, South Dakota.
The finish rounded out a stellar weekend for the team in which Renheim put in a strong ride on Friday battling heavy traffic and wet roost on the brutal Deadwood bullring to pull of a sixth place finish. “Sometimes you just have to ride your best but still finish to race the next day,” said Renheim. Especially now that we see so many guys getting hurt, you have to be in every race for the championship.”
As a result of his recent performances over the weekend, Adam moved up two positions in the national championship where he is now third.
Marica Renheim pulled off her third straight win in the Pro Am Womens class, but not without some drama as she had to race her way past points leader Elina Ohman on the last lap.
Marica swept both of her qualifying rounds and continues to make progress in closing the gap in the championship that resulted from missing the first round with injury.
The team is now in Aspen, Colorado for the ESPN Winter X Games. The course in Aspen is typically larger than most national series tracks with a layout that should favor Adam’s riding style as he pursues his first WXG medal.
