Zimmerman, Minn. February 29, 2016 – A quick glance at the results doesn’t tell the full story for Corin Todd, whose speed and performance during Friday and Saturday’s main events in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan were among his best all season.
On Friday, Todd was pushed off the track as the field moved through the first turn, causing him to rejoin the chase nearly a quarter lap behind the last rider. By lap seven Todd was up to eighth place posting faster lap times than the leader, all while moving through heavy traffic. With six laps to go Todd was making a move that could have advanced him as many as three positions when he made contact with another rider and came off his sled. Corin was okay and finished the final in 10th place.
Todd qualified well on Saturday going 4-1 but moved early on the starting line for the final and had to start from the back row of the 15-man race. In similar fashion to the previous night, Todd mounted a furious charge and was up to sixth place with four laps to go when the rider he was battling with had a mechanical issue and stopped directly in front of Todd. Corin was thrown from his sled putting an end to his progress but did finish 11th.
