Another Great Snocross Season Opener at Duluth

Longville, MN (November 28, 2016) – This past Thanksgiving weekend marked the 25th Annual AMSOIL Duluth National Snocross CJ Ramstad Memorial Cup held at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota. With speculation whether the race would need to be postponed or not, due to the lack of snow and warmer-than-average temps, the crew at ACS and Spirit Mountain worked day and night to create one of the longest tracks we’ve seen just days before the season opener.

The weekend started off with the Amsoil Dominator race on Friday. A bracket-style format type of racing, where each Pro rider was judged off their lap times in seeding to see whom they would match up against in Round 1, and from each race moving forward, the winner would continue on. Pro Rider, Kyle Pallin has some amazing battles and won his way into the Final race and finished in a close second place.

Saturday kicked off Round 1 of the 2016/2017 Snocross Season. Kyle Pallin, Team LaVallee’s Pro racer, had an awesome weekend of racing. Pallin, looking strong and very comfortable on his Team LaVallee, Loctite, Polaris, Red Bull sled, started the season off with a solid 5th place finish. Team LaVallee’s Pro Lite rider, Zak Mason was ready for his first race back after a shoulder injury from last season. Mason qualified well and made it into the back-row of the stacked 15-racer, Pro Lite final. With a mid-pack start, Mason rode consistent and was able to finish the Pro Lite Round 1 final in a notable 8th place.

Team LaVallee’s grassroots rider, Evan Daudt (Pro Lite) and Adam Peterson (Sport) also had great results throughout the weekend. Daudt debuted his Pro-Lite career on Saturday night at Duluth, with very competitive scores for his qualifying rounds and just missed the Pro Lite final, by one position. In Sport, Adam Peterson rode very impressive and finished the weekend with a 4th place on Friday and 13th on Saturday night, after a hard off. All-in-all an awesome weekend of racing!

Round 2 / Sunday’s racing was canceled due to strong fog conditions making it impossible for the riders to see. The race was ultimately canceled and we are waiting to find out details as to when Round 2 will be made up.
