Ross Martin On The Pro Open Box In Colorado, Jake Angove Continues Podium Streak In Pro Lite

Duluth, MN (December 19, 2016) – Ross Martin made his first podium appearance of the season on Saturday night in Winter Park, Colorado, launching his Jack Link’s/AMSOIL/Axalta Polaris to an early lead on the fast and challenging hillside course. It was a dramatic turnaround for Martin, who struggled to get comfortable with his setup on Friday but found new confidence with the quick start, holding on for a third place in the Pro Open final.

Jake Angove continued his impressive streak of podium finishes in Pro Lite, collecting a second and third in Colorado, showing a good mix of speed, patience and confi-dence. “I should have won that race Saturday,” said Angove. It was just so intense at the start that I forgot to breathe during the first half of the race and was a little worn out at the end.”

Nick Lorenz had another good weekend in his rookie season in the Lites class. Lorenz has been in the mix in every final this season and is still learning to balance sprint speed with the pace required to stay up front at the end. Lorenz finished fifth on Friday and fourth on Saturday and is right behind Angove in the points championship.

The team will now have a couple of weeks to test over the holiday break before getting into the heart of our schedule when racing resumes on January 6-8 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota.
