Tim Tremblay Retains Healthy Championship Lead With Saturday Night Podium In Deadwood, South Dakota

Aurora, Minn. (January 23, 2017) Just surviving the treacherous bull ring of the Days of ’76 Rodeo Arena in Deadwood, South Dakota can be a challenge in itself. That was certainly the case for both Tim Tremblay and Lincoln Lemieux over the weekend as both riders saw plenty of near misses and outright contact as the AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour hit the halfway point in the season.

For Tremblay, the action started early in the main event on Friday when he tried to jump into the lead and landed at a bad angle causing his to turn over in a corner as the entire pack raced by. Remarkably, Tremblay was able to remount and race through a jam-packed field to post a sixth place finish and secure valuable points. Lincoln Lemieux had an issue in his second heat which forced him to race through the last chance qualifier and start from the back row of the final. He, too, was able to work through much of the field landing in eighth position.

On Saturday, Tremblay raced from fifth place at the start of the final into one of the best four rider battles of the season at the front of the pack. After reaching the third position midway through the race, Tim struggled with visibility after the wet, heavy snow roost broke his visor off his helmet, causing it to hang in front of his face. He was scored third at the line but later moved to the runner-up spot when a penalty was assessed to the rider in front of him.

All in all another great weekend for the championship as the team heads to Colorado for the Winter X Games before resuming the national series in two weeks in New York.

Deadwood was a special round for the team with the U.S. Air Force serving as the title sponsor and General Harancak attending the race. The team also took part in school visits in
