Longville, MN (February 27, 2017) – Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan was the host to rounds 11 and 12 of the 2016-2017 ISOC Snocross Series. It was a question mark if this National race would go on, as there was no snow within many areas of the Mid-West, including Mt. Pleasant. The crew at ISOC and Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino re-assured the show would go on and they did a great job preserving enough snow for a jam-packed two day National.

On Friday / Day 1 / Round 11 of snocross racing, the track conditions were (in one word) wet. Lightning did also cause a few weather delays throughout the day. With the dense, wet, slush-like snow it added in an extra challenge for the riders and their sleds. In Pro Open, Kyle Pallin had a tough day of racing, with hard offs in his qualifying rounds and in the Pro Open Final, Pallin was able to charge hard from the back row and finish a notable 8th place! In Pro Lite, Zak Mason was looking to make a great debut at his hometown race in Mt. Pleasant, after a 3 year hiatus of not racing there, due to injury. Mason went 1-1 in his qualifying rounds and on the line of the Pro Lite Final, Mason ripped the hole-shot and rode one of the most comfortable and confident races of this season. Mason finished on the top of the box Friday night, winning the Pro Lite Final.

On Saturday / Day 2 / Round 12 the weather changed to cold and windy, changing the snow conditions on the track. In Pro Open, Kyle Pallin had a great day of racing, qualified well in his respective rounds and in the Pro Open Final rode smooth and consistent rounding out the weekend in an awesome 5th place position. In Pro Lite, Zak Mason made his way into the Pro Lite Final via the LCQ and finished the Round 12 Final in the 12th place position.

For Team LaVallee’s grassroots riders, Adam Peterson (Sport) had tough luck Friday night and missed the Sport Final from a tough off in the LCQ. Saturday was redemption day for Peterson and it showed on the track. Coming from the back row of the Round 12 Sport Final, Peterson rode really strong, picking off riders lap-by-lap and finished out the weekend in an impressive 6th place. Evan Daudt (Pro Lite) was very consistent throughout the two-day National, great qualifying allowed Daudt to bypass both LCQ’s and be in the front row of his finals. Daudt took 8th on Friday and an awesome 6th place on Saturday night.
