Shakopee, MN (November 28, 2017) – The Duluth National Snocross kicked off the 2017-2018 race season for Hentges Racing this past November 24-26. Held each year at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota, DNSX marks the official start of the snowmobile racing season. Hentges Racing riders Kody Kamm and Petter Narsa enter the season as the duo to beat – Kamm as reigning Pro points champion and Narsa as Winter X Games snocross gold medal winner.
Kamm made an early statement on the weekend, winning the Dominator, an event where racers are pitted against each other in two-lap races in an elimination bracket. He carried that momentum in Saturday’s racing, taking 2nd place in the Pro final, then came back Sunday and missed another podium finish by one spot, taking 4th in the final. “I felt better at Duluth this year than any other year,” Kamm said. “Usually Duluth is a slow start for me, so a podium and second place in points is great! Looking forward to getting more time on the sled and I’ll come out swinging at the next event.” Narsa showed great speed in heat racing both days, taking two wins and two 2nd place finishes on his way to the finals. The crowded field and high lap counts made it difficult to gain or keep ground, and Narsa placed 8th on Saturday and 5th on Sunday. With near max points in heat racing Narsa backed up his teammate in points after the first event, with Kamm sitting in 2nd after two rounds and Narsa in 3rd. “We were able to get a lot of riding in before Duluth so I felt confident going into the race,” Narsa said. “I had a good starting spot for the final on Saturday but got tangled with another rider off the start. I worked my way up to 8th from last place. Sunday went good with a 5th place. Looking forward to the next event and bringing more speed!” Next up for Hentges Racing is the Jackson Hole Snocross National in Jackson, Wyoming, December 8-9.
