Shakopee, Minn. (Feb. 2, 2015) –Hentges Racing carried the momentum from X Games into round seven of AMSOIL Championship Snocross with Kody Kamm winning Friday’s Pro Open main event on his Monster Energy / FXR Racing / Polaris over Tucker Hibbert.
In what has been the most exciting main event between two riders this season, Kamm who started as number one qualifier after taking wins in both qualifying heat races, becomes the race leader by lap two and never looks back. Hibbert tries to make some passes on Kamm for the lead with two laps to go but Kamm holds him off in a wild fashion to the finish line.
“I definitely got a great start and got the lead early on. I managed to get through lap traffic clean and stay in the lead. We [Tucker Hibbert] had a great battle for the win. I was struggling on the last lap and almost came off, but held onto it and couldn’t be happier,” said Kamm.
Justin Broberg had his share of ups and downs while battling the rough, small and tight technical track. With poor starts in qualifying and an appearance in Saturday’s LCQ moving him into the main event, he still managed to come out of the weekend with two top 10 finishes. Broberg still sits within the top ten in Pro Open points.
“The weekend started off a little rough. I had a wild off in qualifying on Friday but came back with two top 10 finishes – an eight on Friday and a fifth on Saturday. We had very tight racing all weekend but I left healthy, ” said Broberg.
