Longville, MN (January 26, 2016) – Historic Deadwood South Dakota was the host of Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2015/2016 ISOC Snocross Series. The races were held at Days of ‘76 Rodeo Grounds in the heart of downtown Deadwood. With a sold-out crowd on Saturday, fans from all over the area were in for some exciting racing. The warmer than average weather was great for fans, but tough on the track. The snow conditions track-side were wet, dense, and rough which was an added challenge for the riders and for their sleds.
Team LaVallee’s Pro Lite Rider, Zak Mason sat out for Deadwood’s two-day National, as Mason suffered from a shoulder injury that had happened two weeks before at the Shakopee National. After extensive physical therapy leading up to the Deadwood race, Mason had to make the tough decision to sit out, as the risk of further injuring his shoulder, currently outweighed the reward. Mason is scheduled for surgery later this week.
Kyle Pallin (Pro), had a good weekend of racing. His qualifying rounds were solid, and good enough to allow him to skip the LCQ’s and go directly into the front row of both the Round 7 and 8 finals. Pallin had tough starts in both Pro Open Finals but was able to keep his lines and ride at a consistent pace throughout both 22-lap finals and finish a notable 9th on Friday and 8th on Saturday. From here, Team LaVallee continues to head West and is gearing up for Winter X Games Aspen. Kyle Pallin and Levi LaVallee are to compete in Snocross on Thursday (Jan. 28th) and LaVallee will compete in the Snowmobile Freestyle event on Friday (Jan 29th). “Deadwood is rough and tight track which adds a challenge to the riders and our equipment. Luckily we ended up having a pretty good weekend, Kyle rode strong and consistent and our mechanics had our sleds dialed. Looking forward to the Winter X Games this week in Aspen!” – Levi LaVallee
