Winnipeg, MB. – January 30, 2016 – Adam Renheim turned in a career best Winter X Games performance for himself and the Boss Racing/Jimmy John’s/Ski-Doo team when he raced to a second place Silver medal on Thursday afternoon in Aspen, Colorado.
Renheim was stellar throughout the day posting the second-best lap in timed practice which gave him the first pick on the starting line for his qualifying heat. This was of ultimate importance in transferring to the main event, as the course at the base of Buttermilk Mountain was very one laned and provided limited passing opportunities.
Renheim easily won his 10-lap qualifying heat, which again meant that he would have a premier lane choice for the 20-lap main event.
Renheim shot to the front of the field at the start of the final, trailing only eight-time defending X Games champion Tucker Hibbert. Early on he stayed in close pursuit of the leader as the top three riders distanced themselves from the field. Renheim maintained a solid hold on the second spot right to the finish, crossing the line just over 10 seconds behind Hibbert, in what was one of the closest finishes in recent years.
The team will reload over the next couple of days before a quick cross-country turnaround to the ISOC national series event just outside of Buffalo, New York on Friday and Saturday February 5-6.
