Fertile, MN (March 1, 2016) – With just three races left on the schedule, CBR entered the Ram Trucks Snocross National in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, this past weekend looking to power through to the end of the season. The Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino was the home to Rounds 11 and 12 for the ACS Snocross Championship and despite warm temperatures leading up to the event mother nature gave the ACS crew an additional 8-12 inches of snow to work with just days prior. With Dave Joanis (Royal Distributing/Arctic Cat) out for the season with a knee injury, CBR enlisted veteran racer Matt Piche to pilot the vacant sled. Logan Christian (Doc/Arcticwear/Arctic Cat) and Tyler Adams (Arctic Cat) both launched out of the gates in practice on Friday dialed in and looking on point.
“The track in Michigan was fun,” said Christian (DOC/Arcticwear/Arctic Cat). “We had the sled dialed in for the night and were ready to go. The first heat I didn’t get a good start but we were right there, so it was looking good. I took the outside line going into a corner and another rider hit a bump on the inside line and got knocked into me. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but long story short, I’m out.” Christian is scheduled to receive an MRI this week to determine the extent of damage to his arm and put together a recovery plan.
Christian Brothers Racing has acquired Jake Scott from Jess Racing to race the (DOC/Arcticwear/Arctic Cat) for the remainder of the season. Scott, of Port Jefferson, NY, currently sits in 11th place in the ACS Pro Open points with a 3rd place finish in Deadwood, SD. Scott will bring with him sponsor Ski Nautique.
Matt Piche (Royal Distributing/Arctic Cat) took the line in his first Pro Open snocross race in over a year. Piche transferred to the main both Friday and Saturday by way of the LCQ and finished 13th and 14th.
Tyler Adams (Arctic Cat) has been a model of consistency all season. Michigan was no exception as he qualified for both finals scoring a first, 2 thirds and a fourth place finishes in heat racing and went on to place 7th in both finals. He currently sits in 9th place in Pro Lite points.
“Michigan went good, I feel like I finally found my pace again,” said Adams. “I had a bit of bad luck in the corner after the finish line both nights and that set me back in the pack, but other than that I was consistent both nights and had good, solid rides.”
Next up for Christian Brothers Racing is the Hollywood Casino Snocross National in Joliet, Illinois.
