Winnipeg, MB (February 6, 2017) – Aki Pihlaja raced his way to a pair of third place finishes at rounds 9 and 10 of the national snocross tour in Salamanca, New York. As a result, he continued to expand on his lead in the class, which now stands at 51 points.
While each stop on the tour presents a new challenge to the Finnish racer who is competing at the venues for the first time, he has done a remarkable job of qualifying well almost every night and finishing on or near the podium to hold the point lead in the class since the opening weekend of the season.
Adam Renheim just missed a podium of his own in the Pro Open division on Friday night. Renheim was in seventh place at the start of the race and methodically worked his way forward, crossing the finish line just one second behind the third place rider.
Renheim had made his way up to the sixth position on Saturday before having an issue just over half way through the race and was scored in the 11th spot.
