Winnipeg, MB (February 20, 2017) – Team Jimmy John’s snocross racers Adam Renheim and Aki Pihlaja, fresh off of podium finishes at the Grand Prix Ski-Doo Valcourt, look to carry their momentum into Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, when the national snocross tour resumes this weekend.
Following the national tour event in New York, the team made its annual trek to Valcourt, Quebec, home of Ski-Doo snowmobiles, for the popular Valcourt Gran Prix. Over 20,000 spectators were on had for the three day race weekend in which Adam Renheim recorded podium finishes each day. Renheim was third on Friday and second on both Saturday and Sunday.
Aki Pihlaja, who currently leads the Pro Lite class on the national tour, entered the Pro Open class in Valcourt and made an instant impact, finishing in the top five on all three days. Pihlaja faces a new challenge this weekend as the national series begins its run to the championship, with the final three events taking place over the next four weekends. It will be the first time for Aki to compete at all of these venues with mounting pressure on the rookie from Finland, who has been a dominant force in the class all season.
