The Mailloux Racing team has started the new year with a trip to Shakopee, Minnesota, for the 3rd round of the ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross which took place this January 3-4. As every year, the track at Canterbury Park was earning his name of ‘Daytona of Snocross’ with big jumps and lots of action. Our Ski-Doo rider #111, Nathan Mailloux, had an exceptional weekend by climbing twice on the podium.
On Friday, Nathan is in action in the Sport Lite class. In the first qualifying round, he finishes in 5th place, but he recovers in his second round with a 2nd place. With nearly 45 riders in this class, Nathan has to go through the LCQ to advance to the final. He ended up 3rd in the LCQ and he will be 13th to get on the starting gate. Nathan has a good race in the final and he was able to climb back to 10th place at the checkered flag.
Busy day on Saturday for Nathan who races in three classes. In Junior 14-15, Nathan didn’t have a good start and he finishes in 4th position in his first round. He has a good race in his second round and he finishes in 2nd place. Qualified 4th for the final, Nathan has a great race and he crosses the finish line in 2nd place for his first podium.
In the Junior 16-17 class, our Ski-Doo rider performed well in his qualifying rounds with a 2nd place and a 3rd place, qualifying him in 4th position for the final. Nathan gets the holeshot in the final and he brings his Ski-Doo in 2nd place at the checkered flag for his second podium of the morning.
No time to rest since our #111 rider races in the Sport Lite class in the afternoon. Hefinishes in 5th position in his first qualifying round. A great race however in the second round with a 2nd place finish. Nathan is once again bounce to the LCQ and he qualified for the final with a 5th place. In the final, Nathan finds himself stuck in a crash in front of him, losing a lot of time, and he ends his race weekend in 12th place. Great raceday however in Shakopee for Nathan who will have taken part in a total 13 practices/races just on Saturday.

Mailloux Racing will be back in action this coming weekend with a return in the SCMX Provincial Snocross Championship which kick off its season with the first round in Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac this Saturday, January 11.
