The inaugural Blackjack ISOC National in Bessemer, MI proved to be ISOC’s version of a track that is too tough to tame! The nasty downhill runs and treacherous starting line collected even the best of riders all weekend long.

Kody Kamm came into Sunday with the confidence needed to claim his second victory and become the first multiple winner of the season in the Pro Lite class! Kody nailed the holeshot in Sunday’s final and drove 10 flawless laps on a terretrous course that saw five different riders cartwheel the downhill section in the Pro Lite final.

“I had a pretty good jump, bumped in to Andy (Lieders), held on and got the holeshot,” said Kamm. “From there I just rode a smart race and was able to win. Thanks to my mom and dad for letting me take time off school to come here and race!”

TJ Gulla and Brett Bender both had up and down weekends. Gulla did not qualify for the final on Saturday after an off on the downhill in the LCQ kept him off the starting grid but he was able to battle back Sunday with a solid eight place finish from the back row.

Brett Bender worked his way up to fifth from the back row in the Pro Open final Saturday when a rare engine failure ended his bid for a podium. Sunday did not allow for much better fortunes for Bender as two hole shot crashes in qualifying sent him back to the trailer prematurely.

The upcoming holiday break allows us to test out a few new things before heading back to Canterbury after a one year absence. The team will be prepared for a homecoming in Shakopee, MN with something to prove and win our way back on the box!
