FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Feb. 20, 2012 – With temperatures chilling down into the high teens last week just outside Buffalo, N.Y., ISOC crews were able to blast nine snow guns for up to 24 hours straight on two occasions, creating more than enough snow to host rounds 7 & 8 of the 2011-’12 ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series – The Vision Kia Eastern National – at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack, Feb. 3-4.
“We’re good with what we’ve got, but we’re making snow again tonight just to be sure,” said ISOC Director of Operations/Racing Director Carl Schubitzke.
Note: This is the state of New York’s only opportunity of 2012 to see high speed/big air motocross-style snowmobile racing right down I-90 from Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse!
Tickets start at just $25 ($10 for kids) and are available at the gate or online at www.fingerlakessnocross and snocross.com
Not only does ACSS racing at Finger Lakes showcase the best pro racers, fans will also get to see the top amateur kids and women racers – many of whom are from New York. Watch two full days of great racing in front of Finger Lakes’ comfortable indoor stadium seating setting, featuring all of the amenities associated with a professional racing circuit – right in the middle of the New York winter!
Boston, NY’s Brett Bender and his Hentges/Polaris-mounted teammate TJ Gulla will no doubt figure in the overall premier Pro Open main event. Bender is the 2009-’10 ACSS Rookie of the Year and Gulla is considered by many to be one of the top snocross racers of all time having won three ACSS overall championships and two Winter X Games medals, including gold in 2003. Challenging the two Finger Lakes locals will be Polaris’ Ross Martin and Ski-Doo pilots Tim Tremblay and Robbie Malinoski. All three have won on the ACSS circuit this year, with Tremblay winning the last round at the Silverdome in Michigan and leading the overall points. So the table is set for what should prove to be another weekend of incredible racing action at upstate New York’s premier horse racing facility!
In addition to the great racing, Finger Lakes will host a number of the industry’s top freestyle snowmobilers, jumping and performing tricks – including an awe-inspiring back flip on a snowmobile – during the evening racing show. ISOC Freestyle, fueled by Monster Energy.
