SNOW, NOT SLOTS, YIELD THE PRIZE AT SENECA ALLEGANY AIR FORCE SNOCROSS

SALAMANCA, NY (February 23, 2013) – Hentges Racing would have to wait for the second night of ISOC competition at the inaugural Seneca Allegany Air Force Snocross event to pick up the podium prize this weekend. As the series took over the outside of the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in front of a packed house, Kody Kamm and Justin Broberg both scored heat wins and garnered enough points to move the Polaris Pirtek riders both back into the top-10 in the overall championship standings.

It would be Saturday, however, when the HR riders did their best work of the weekend. Broberg and Kamm each scored heat wins; Justin in Round 1 and Kody in Round 2. The pair never finished outside the top-5 in every session.

Kamm’s #53 started the night’s final from 3rd and Broberg’s #168 also started on the front row from 10th. Justin got the better start of the two HR riders, quickly jumping from 10th to 6th in the first lap. Kamm got shuffled back to 7th and spent a majority of the 24-lap race charging back up into the top-5. On Lap 18 Kody was able to capitalize in the mistake made by Ross Martin and Kyle Pallin, who collided while running 3rd and 4th. Kamm deftly maneuvered past the incident to again make it another podium weekend for the 18 year-old, finishing 3rd. Justin held his own, turning consistent laps on the #168 and skillfully working through lapped traffic. Broberg brought the Polaris sled to the checkers to round out the top-5.

Both HR riders leave New York in the top-10 in the points standings with Kamm moving up to 4th and Broberg reclaiming the 10th spot. The ISOC series takes a break from shredding snow this weekend and returns to action March 8-9 in Fargo, ND.

Kody Kamm, #53 quote- “I messed up in the whoops at the start and some guys got passed me, so I basically had to start all over. I just floored it and rode as hard as I could! It was a bunch of sloppy, wet snow out there, but I liked it!”

Justin Broberg #169 quote – “I had a good start tonight, but everyone was getting together in the whoops, so I had to lift a little to not get collected. From then on I really tried to stay clear of traffic and get all I could from each lap while being smart. Overall, it was a really good day and I feel like I’m making headway in my overall consistency.”

Tim Bender, team manager quote – “It was a gnarly track all weekend. Kody rode great both days. Gnarly tracks seem to be turning into Kody’s kind of tracks! I think Justin’s weekend is reflective of his achieving his goal of improving his level of consistency in his performance. Hentges Racing had a solid weekend overall.”
