Kimster Team Press

Dec. 1, 2011 – (Clinton Twp., MI) Team Arctic Pro Am Women Racer Megan Campbell and the Peer Pressure Racing Team traveled to Northern Minnesota last week to for the ACSS Duluth Nationals– the opening round of the ’11-’12 Snocross Season. Megan spent time laying down practice laps in at the Planet-X practice facility in Aurora, MN before heading to Duluth for the season opener.

After training hard all off season, it was time for Megan to test her grit and the performance of the new Arctic Cat SnoPro. Megan started strong in Heat one with a solid 3rd place finish.. The second heat, Megan pulled the holeshot on her SnoPro and was running second midway thru the race when she caught a kicker on the finish line jump. She had an “off” and rapidly re-mounted to finish 7th, finishing with front row qualifying for the main.

The final round started with Megan hard charging into the first corner and into the downhill section. Megan quickly tangled with a Polaris rider ending up under her sled with her arm twisted behind her back. Officials red flagged the race after realizing Megan had sustained a serious
injury.

She was transported to St Mary’s Medical Center / Children’s Hospital in Duluth. Diagnosis; displaced fracture to her right upper arm. Doctors set her arm and held her overnight for observation. Megan took an Emergency Medical flight seat out of Duluth International Airport on Monday to avoid the trauma of a 13 hour ride home to Detroit.

Megan’s Orthopedic Doctor here in Metro Detroit agreed with Duluth physicians that surgery is not required at this time. The bone will require 10-12 weeks to heal and Megan will be working to get back to the track as quickly as possible. In the meantime, she will be at events where feasible to promote the sport and support her fellow riders.

Megan and her entire family wishes to thank everyone for their well wishes during her recovery. Peer Pressure Racing will be selling t-shirts and hoodies to support Megan. They will be available on the Peer Pressure Racing Facebook page and on her website which is nearly ready for launch.
