MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 20, 2012) – It’s all systems “GO!” for AMSOIL Championship Snocross, presented by Traxxas, at Duluth’s Spirit Mountain – the 23rd running of the Duluth National this weekend, Nov. 23-25!

Beginning with Friday’s (Nov. 23th) AMSOIL Dominator® race and featuring the prestigious C.J. Ramstad Memorial Cup on the weekend, SNOW GUNS have been BLASTING at Spirit Mountain and there’s PLENTY OF SNOW to host this weekend’s opening rounds of 2012-’13 AMSOIL Championship Snocross!

“The Duluth National is scheduled – as planned – this weekend,” assured Renee Mattson, Spirit Mountain’s executive director. “And though the weather looks to be gone for more track snowmaking here the next several days, the snow we did make is holding just fine and it will make for a thrilling three days of competitive racing beginning this Friday with the AMSOIL Dominator!”

Spirit Mountain scrambled 17 of its powerful snow making guns and pumped countless gallons of water, mixed with Snomax®, through them in order to create a mountain of snow atop Spirit Mountain when the rest of the state of Minnesota is all but devoid of snow.

“Hat’s off to the snow making crew at Spirit Mountain … they’ve again pulled off a major feat in creating enough snow for us to race on despite the lack of natural snow in the area, not to mention the lack of ideal snow making temperatures as well,” said Carl Schubitzke, ACS President/Race Director.  “I can’t think of a better place for AMSOIL Championship Snocross to launch its season than right here in Duluth at Spirit Mountain!”
