FARGO ACTION DELIVERS PODIUM HIGHS, BUT NOT WITHOUT ITS LOWS

FARGO, ND (March 9, 2013) – The snocross action at Glyndon, Minnesota’s Buffalo River Race Park was not without its highs and lows for Hentges Racing  for Rounds 13 and 14 of the ISOC championship, and the second-to-last race of the season.

Friday was nearly picture perfect for the HR duo of Kody Kamm and Justin Broberg. From start to finish, the Polaris Pirtek pair never finished lower than 4th in every session.  Highlights of the qualifying rounds included Kody setting fastest lap in his heat of Round 1 and winning the hole-shot in his Round 2 heat. For the Friday Final, both riders earned a front-row start with Kody on the line in 3rd and Justin 10th. The start was a perfect one for HR as Broberg won the hole-shot and his teammate followed right behind to claim 1-2. It was non-stop action for the top-5 sleds, with Kamm taking the checkers in 2nd and continuing his podium streak. Broberg just missed making it a double podium for Hentges, but did keep both Polaris in the top-5 with a 4th-place result.

Saturday, unfortunately, did not follow the same plan. It was a whole lot of rough and tumble racing in front of a packed house at BRRP. Justin did have some strong highlights on his #168, winning the hole-shots in both of his qualifying heats. Outside of that, it was a lot of beating and banging as the entire field seemed to be all out for those precious last few points left up for grabs this season.

During the Final, both Hentges Racing sleds sustained contact, but the riders powered on all they could to eek out the best finish left on the track. Kamm pushed through to a 7th-place result, while Broberg battled traffic to bring home his sled in 13th.

Next weekend marks the all-important season finale in Lake Genenva, WI. Both Hentges Racing riders go into the final rounds in the top-10.

Kody Kamm #53 quote- “The track was pretty gnarly and really rough again. Obviously, I like that kind of track and Friday just really seemed to go smooth and fit my style of riding. Saturday was tough. I got heat I think in every heat. It seems like everybody is just going for it no matter what since we’re at the end and there’s a lot of positions still up in the air. My sled got pretty banged up and the rider did too!”

Justin Broberg #169 quote – “I felt really confident coming into to Saturday. Friday was just solid, and winning the hole-shot in the Final was such a good boost. Today was totally unexpected and frustrating because I had good starts, but it was pretty aggressive out there. The track conditions kept changing which didn’t help any of us keep lines or anything. I’m glad I moved in the standings and I’m ready to finish out the season moving forward.”

Tim Bender, team manager quote – “Like the guys said, it was definitely a gnarly track. We were really proud of our whole race day on Friday. Kody and Justin really kept on top of their goals and momentum. Saturday obviously didn’t go the way we wanted, but it wasn’t due to either of them not riding well really. If we couldn’t win, it was great to have Ross (Martin) win it one a Hentges Racing built Polaris.”
