NORTH BRANCH, Minn. (September 6, 2014) – A bit of a surprise mixed with a whole lot of tradition highlights today’s announcement of the 2014-’15 AMSOIL Championship Snocross, powered by Ram, season schedule – in conjunction with 48th annual Hay Days.

Joining the bookend events to open (Spirit Mt.) and close (Lake Geneva Resort) the upcoming season is the much-anticipated event at Chicago’s (Joliet, Ill.) Route 66 Raceway. Set to run on the drag strip at Route 66’s NHRA facility, the event will no doubt be a huge draw for the legions of snowmobile – and general motorsports – fans from the great state of Illinois.

“ISOC and Route 66 have been in discussion for some time on bringing AMSOIL Championship Snocross the facility, and we were finally able to bring a deal together that, right out of the gate, should be one of the most successful rounds on this year’s tour,” said ISOC President Carl Schubitzke. “Logistically speaking, everything’s in place at Route 66 Raceway to where we’ve just got to make some snow, show up and have at it.”

Opening the 2014-’15 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season, as it always does, will be the Thanksgiving Weekend event at Duluth’s Spirit Mountain, including the fan-favorite AMSOIL Dominator match racing on Friday (leading in to the race weekend). Next up, prior to the holiday break, will be the Fargo, N.D., round (Dec. 12-13), filling the date vacated by Bessemer, Mich. The series’ highest-attended event, Shakopee, Minn., will open the New Year on Jan. 9-10, followed by Deadwood, S.D. (Jan. 30-31).

February will be a busy month on the AMSOIL Championship Snocross circuit as the racers and teams move from New York (Salamanca, Feb. 6-7) to Chicago and then Michigan’s Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, Feb. 27-28. Lake Geneva will host the final three rounds of racing action, March 13-15, to cap off what will no doubt be another thrilling season of racing action on the world’s premier stage for the snowmobile industry.
