Christian Brothers Racing Powers Into 2015 Season At Duluth National

Duluth, Minn. (Dec 2, 2014) – The ISOC Duluth National Snocross traditionally marks the beginning of the snowmobile racing season. Held on the slopes of Spirit Mountain overlooking the Duluth harbor, it’s also the first event on the Christian Brothers Racing 2014-2015 racing calendar. A turkey day tradition, the Duluth National always takes place Thanksgiving weekend and this year the CBR team had a lot to be thankful for.

Topping the team’s results was DOC360/DRIFT Racing/Arctic Cat rider Logan Christian. Christian was the top qualifier in Sunday’s Pro Open final after compiling two 1st place finishes in both of his qualifying rounds. Christian finished 5th in Saturday’s race and 7th in Sunday’s race after accidentally pulling his tether while in the Top 4. He leaves Duluth tied for third place in Pro Open points.

“The track at Duluth was a lot of fun,” said Christian. “Saturday went good and Sunday went event better, I swept my heats and was top qualifier for the final. After the first race I’m in a three-way tie for third-place in points and I’m looking forward to racing the next event in Fargo!”

Royal Distributing/Arctic Cat rider Dave Joanis nearly equaled Christian’s heat results, never finishing lower than third place and easily qualifying for Saturday and Sunday’s finals. Joanis ended the week-end with a 5th place finish in the Pro Open improving on his 8th place finish from Saturday. Joanis leaves Duluth sitting in seventh place Pro Open points.

“We improved throughout the weekend and I don’t think Sunday could have gone any better,” said Joanis. “This is a great start to the season and I want to thank the team for all the work they did to get me the results.”

Tyler Adams made his debut in the Pro Lite class at Duluth.  Sweeping both of his qualifying heats on Sunday, Adams made his first Pro Lite final finishing 14th improving upon his Saturday finish.

120 winner

Five-year-old Levi Ohman won the Arctic Cat ZR120 snowmobile given away by Christian Brothers Racing at the event on Sunday. The snowmobile is the first of five ZR120 snowmobiles the team will be giving away during the 2014-2015 ISOC National snocross season. Other giveaways will take place at Fargo, Shakopee, New York and Lake Geneva.

“Levi is such a lucky boy!” Levi’s mom Elyzabeth Ohman said. “He is so excited to ride tomorrow. Thank you so much Christian Brothers Racing for making kids so happy!”

Before competing at the Duluth National the CBR team spent Thanksgiving at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center serving turkey dinner to those in need. This is the fourth year in a row the team has worked the event organized by the Twin Ports Community and the College of St. Scholastica. The buffet serves approximately 5,000 people annually.

“Christian Brothers Racing has been serving Thanksgiving dinner to those in need for four years now,” said Christian Brothers Racing team co-owner Dwight Christian. “We are thankful we can help out during the holidays.”
