Salamanca, New York- February 10, 2015 — Rounds 9 and 10 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series got underway on Friday, February 6th at the Seneca Allegany Resort in Salamanca, New York. With recent heavy snow falls in the area, track builders had plenty of snow to construct one of the fastest and larger tracks to date. New Yorkers turned out in force, breaking records for the annual event.
Friday night began with a litany of issues for the team. All three Pro riders broke belts in their first heat race, sending the crew scrambling. “It was a clutching issue. We just weren’t finding that sweet spot.”, said team owner, Garry Querel. The boys quickly got it sorted out, and things improved in Heat 2. Darrin took a 4th and Adam took 1st. Colby however, had a rough go of things. He crashed hard in the LCQ, injuring his leg and taking
him out of competition for the remainder of the weekend. Adam went on to make the front row of the main and finished 6th overall.
In Saturday’s Pro Am Women’s round, Marica had another weekend on top of the podium. She placed first in both of her heat races, and ended her weekend with a commanding 15 second lead in the final (despite missing the holeshot and coming off the line in third).
“She’s smart, and she’s fast – she’s really tough to beat right now”- Garry Querel.
In Men’s Pro Division, both Adam and Darrin made the front row of Saturday’s main. Adam finished two spots shy of the podium, in 5th — moving up a notch from previous rounds. Darrin had a poor start and finished in 10th place. Up next is Joliet, Illinois at the legendary Route 66 Raceway, February 20-21st. Like BOSS Racing on Facebook for current information.
