Jan. 21, 2015 – Sunday afternoon, Monster Energy / Arctic Cat / Ram Truck’s Tucker Hibbert will enter his 15th X Games Snocross event and compete for his eighth-consecutive gold medal in Aspen, Colo. The 30-year-old from Pelican Rapids, Minn. already holds the record for most consecutive gold medals, is the youngest gold medalist in history and with 12 overall medals, is one of the X Games’ most decorated athletes.

Over the years, Hibbert has put a heavy emphasis on being prepared for X Games. With the majority of snocross events being held near or at sea level, he and his team have developed an in-depth elevation testing program to be prepared to compete at Buttermilk Mountain’s 8,500 feet.

“X Games is a special race for me because it was my first pro race and what really started my career. It’s no secret that I put a lot of effort into X Games every year. The past seven years we (the team) have had a lot of success at this event and it’s important we keep that momentum going.”

“X Games is a challenging race because it’s at a higher elevation than the other races. That’s why it’s important we do so much testing for this one event. Since elevation essentially robs an engine of power, it takes a lot of time and effort to get my sled running at its full capability.”

“This year, I’m not doing anything different than what I normally do – just a lot of testing and riding. At this point, there isn’t anything crazy or different that can make my program much better. The gains are found in small tweaks. We look at every angle to make sure we enter Aspen 100% prepared to win.”
